I have been learning English for years, almost having no vocabulary or grammar difficulty. I want to learn British accent, especially how to change intonation when speaking or reading long sentences or news article. I imitate every sentence in the video.

Many thanks for the comment. I am just about to release a short video on sentence stress which may be of some help, but a lot of people struggle with intonation as they do not have a good grasp of punctuation and WH question forms. It is probably a good subject for a video, so watch this space!

Hi Liz, can I ask on 5:55,from the sentence "it was a bit ",how come the "was" sounds like /wo:s/? Thanks very much

Hi James. Good question! I put more stress on the word 'was' because it makes the agreement stronger. In conversation, we respond in many different ways to our audience. In this case, he was agreeing. Instead of just saying YES it was. He says YES it WA:S. This places more emphasis on the word 'was' thereby making the agreement stronger. Hope this helps ☺️
