You mentioned the stress sign in the word,it makes it easier..i think i am higher than c2 level..it is quite helpful and progressive.

Paying attention to the syllable construction of each word, noticing the stressed syllables where the vowels must be pronounced clearly and also the weak or de-stressed vowels, where the weak vowel sound is normally a schwa, is so important, and why I always try to show this. Hi Liz, I've just discovered your channel and I'm supper happy! ❤ I've been living in London for 13 years and trust me, it is still a hard process for me to enhance my English. Talking about levels like you mention in this video, I think this subject is a bit tricky. I did B2 first Cambridge exam and I passed. 😊 Of course I decided to try C1. I paid a course, then 2 private teachers also I did loads of mock exams. It was hard but inside of me I thought , you can do it, girl! Anyway, I did C1 and I failed for only 2 points!😢 I showed my results to my teachers and they all agreed that something was wrong, but Cambridge did not. So, 2 points can say that I'm not capable enough? A certificate can define who I am? Since that day, I just gave up to try again😢. I'm sure some people here can think that they are not good enough but they are. I believe with your help everyone here will learn and improve more more, including me! God bless you! Xx

Hello ma'am Hope you are very well When I speak long u: sound, I start it little front almost in the middle (with relaxed tongue) then glides backwards towards u: sound. So i reckon it is really a Diphthong not a Monophthong sound In SSB accent. If I stress first part of it as it is done in every diphthong it sounds fairly better. What do you think Liz?

Hi, Liz! Library theoretically has three syllables, but you pronounce only two syllables - lai-bri

Hi. The spelling does not match the pronunciation of /or/. When words have an irregular spelling it's helpful to look at their spelling patterns like this : war warm warn swarm dwarf. So after w the vowel in these words is pronounced/or/ Love and peace

Strangely, people where I live here in the UK pronounce the word scarf as [sga:f], not [ska:f] and I got used to pronouncing it the same way. I'm afraid I didn't pass the A1 level...:) Love & peace. Kamil

Hi Kamil. There will always be regional variations which of course does not make them wrong. A lot of people will also insert an r /ska:rf/ or /sga:rf/😃. Sweetie, you are pronouncing "colloquial" as if it's a three-syllable word. You are mushing the - uia - together. When I need to show how the syllable transition here works, I type something like "colloqui-yal," and then help them to smooth out the transition.
