@@leungkaho1728 其實真係根本冇呢回事 she 讀成”書‘ 係老一輩先可能會係咁,就算唔係國際學校都唔會讀成 ’書’ let’s be completely honest here, the English standard in Hong Kong is NOT this bad. This original comment is a complete exaggeration. I don’t think it’s fair for the younger generations of students. 冇人會讀成 ‘書’ lor 好冇 CCTVB 處境劇咩屌
Maggie有機會可以再舉另一例子:"speak"有人讀spik沒有ea拉長, "spoke" 不少人讀為spuk 示卜(應讀為spoak). The difference is subtle but we should learn pronunciation the way native speakers do, as much as we can.
Maggie is pretty awesome for a local HKer... I approve 100%! ^^ took me like 15 years to speak like a native in Canada... it's not just about hard work.. it's the motivation to blend in with locals!! And now having kids that are native speakers in the home helps too... kinda sad that I hardly get to use my native HK Cantonese ever...
Well done and support wholeheartedly Keep it going

很多人都讀不到2個 consonant stroke + 1 vowel eg. black brown, clown Craig, frank Florence, plant prune, Graham glad, kleen Krispy, skim scheme, three twenty, … hope you can teach us. 🙏 also egg eight

Good work. I also noticed over the years that some HK folks would pronounce these couple words in a peculiar way - boutique as “po-tique”, and buffet as “po-fay” perhaps cause these are French words. Maybe you could do a vid on some words of this nature?

I like a good po fay 🤣

How about piece and peace, dead and dad? Some may say dead is short and dad is long, but if I want to stress that someone is DEAD, not alive, don't I lengthen the vowel in dead so it sort of becomes dad? In Star Trek, Dr McCoy often said "Jim, he's DEAD!" Would it sound exactly as dad?

When you say the word "lounge", the final consonant sounds too aspirated. It is in fact a voiced consonant. Just my two cents.

有些人知道自己會讀錯 sheet ,所以會很快的把這個字說完希望別人不發覺。點知越快就越錯。

1) May I ask "strawberry milkshake" is a countable noun? 2) May I say "some strawberry milkshake"?

@ Alice Chan / But your boy friend might ask you, May I have some strawberry milkshake?
@alleneng31593 жыл бұрын
@ Alice Chan /When you go to McDonald's, you can order a “Strawberry milkshake” - that is a drink. Please accept my apology for the previous answer. But your boyfriend might ask you, " May I have some strawberry milkshake?” - when a female starts her period and has unprotected sexual intercourse, the resultant excrement is known as the strawberry milkshake.
