Bethany, I made an engraved acrylic today for use with a light base. I’ve made several before but today was the first time that I used masking tape instead of painters’ tape and some of the adhesive residue from the masking tape got stuck to the acrylic on each side. I couldn’t get it off by hand and made yet another mistake by using acetone to try and remove the residue and it smeared the acrylic. Nothing I do changes this. I just purchased some Plastic Clean & Shine to see if the acrylic is salvageable. Just thought you might want to know a potential problem with the masking tape. I remade it with painters’ tape and it came out perfect.

This looks amazing. My maker will be here on Tuesday although hubby said I have to wait for Christmas. Can you recommend all what blades are must haves to start? Also, I must say I do miss the question of the day .... Thanks for sharing!

I think the only ‘must have’ blade is the blade that comes with the machine, which is the fine point blade. I started out with that for a quite a few months before looking into other blades.
