It took finding your video to see a rough history of the ball vise. Google was very uncooperative. So thanks. I just completed modifying a bowling ball by mounting/centering a 6 1/2 inch concentrically inscribed face plate centered over the 1 inch thumb hole. This comfortably sits in a 6 1/2 inch i.d. push fertilizer tire. For this retired tool and die maker, a faceplate on a bowling ball is considerably more versatile than any 2 jaw setup. Really appreciated your video.
