I can try! My top recommendation is to get laserable leatherette! If you want real leather, veg tanned is the best in my opinion.

First of all, I love your videos. They are always well done, helpful and informative. Do you know if I could engrave on bonded leather? I would love to engrave one of my bibles but they are all bonded leather. Thank you for your help as it’s always appreciated

I would avoid it unless you're able to find out from the distributor about the makeup of the imitation leather. Imitation leather that is PU or polyurethane are safe, however some bonded leather has PVC, which is BAD NEWS. Right now, I am sticking to TrueTone. I found information on it here: www.bibledesignblog.com/blog/2007/11/the-sincerest-f.html (I know it's just a blog, but a lot of retail Bibles that looked like they were laser engraved were also TrueTone)

Since this book is so big, I am planning to continue to mark the middle with a tiny piece of tape, or chalk. Otherwise, I'll build a jig from cardboard!

Why is it not pvc safe ? What happen if i dont know what my faux leather is made of and i try to use it in glow forge ?

PVC puts out toxic gas when used with CO2 laser. Unless it's a leather that has made it's ingredients known by saying it's PU, or it's a "leatherette" made for laser cutting, I highly recommend avoiding it. Better safe than sorry in my opinion.

When you say engrave....is that the same as score

Almost. You can do similar settings, but a score will only mark the outline of your object, while engrave will fill it in. For example, the "HIM" would only be an outline if I set this to score.

Correct! PU or polyurethane is leather safe.
