Hi Rebeca. I don't have the money to pay for a course. When I started watching your videos on engvid I didn't quite understand what you were saying but, little by little, I improved my English listening and now I understand it very well. Thank you very much. I live in Brazil. In the Amazon.

Nice lesson. Cause and Effect is a vital area especially for EAP (English for Academic Purposes). Some other points: Be careful with the word 'result'. As a noun, it is similar to outcome or effect. But as a verb it works the other way around: The forest fires resulted in loss of habitat for many wild animals. [led to/ caused] Compare that with: Habitat loss has been one of the results of the forest fires. For an effect that follows swiftly after its cause, we can use trigger, prompt, provoke. For a more gradual effect we tend to use lead to. Severe loss of blood can trigger brain death. Eating too much sugar can lead to diabetes.

Can you please explain me the rule about that sentence: his arm can be hit and stretched, causing damage to his bones. Because in this sentence there is i-n-g without "which would" for example before the noun itself (causing).
