What you think of it any down points and has it got throttle so you can just twist it and the bike will start
@lifes4touring7 ай бұрын
Hi personally i (Lee) loves the engine bikes however if there is a down side it will be the weight as it 38KG so you need to be able to carry it but it's sturdy. The pro is good too with more power. Also yes the engine x has a twist throttle which is great.

To activate the throttle function, and remove the speed limit, just do this - - When the display is turned on, press and hold the "+ & -" button at the same time for 3 seconds to enter the setting interface. After releasing the "+ & -" button, press and hold the "+" button for 15 seconds to release the 6km accelerator limit and the 25km/h speed limit." Do the same to reverse the function back to stock.

I have one in white with a lot of mods done to it. Dual batteries, balancer kit, 203mm front disc. Some cheap rear pannier bags with the second battery on top. See my short clip. The other short is of my engine x with the topeak bag which I have since removed to have my custom setup. Some things to be aware of is the rear suspension. I had to buy 2 86mm axle bolts as the factory ones were too short not allowing the suspension to move freely. Be aware of the headset bearings as they may need re-greasing or replacing. My steering makes a gritty noise when you turn. As you may know already the front brake is on the left but you can swap them round. On some bikes the peddle assist and throttle can stop working but the display remains on. Switching off and on again cures it. Do check the motor cable on the rear frame and make sure the plug is nice and tight. Also when charging the battery it's worth getting a mechanical or digital timer to switch the power off. I have mine set at about 7 hours as its a 13ah battery. The frame has been known to snap though this is rare. They've sold thousands. A point to note is it may be marketed as a 250watt ebike but if you do the maths you'll realise it's a lot more powerful. 48v x 18amp Controller = 864 Watts peak power. Its a great bike on the whole and it goes really well. I'm a heavy guy with a lot of kit on board and it shifts me along with no effort on my part.

Hi Simon thank you for the in depth information of what you have noticed after using the bike for a longer period, they seem to be things that can all be corrected so i will check out your shorts on the bike. I am looking to keep and use the bike for sometime so this will all be useful. I've only used the bike a couple of times and love it so far and will update more on how it performs on our vlogs over time and if things go wrong or changes are made so it will be an ongoing review really. Thanks again 😊

@@lifes4touring the bike will grow on you. I actually look forward to going out on it if it's not too cold. I plan on converting my old but mint condition apollo gradient with the 26inch wheels. Maybe a 1000w front hub motor. Another thing to note is that on engwe bikes they have a single mode controller that relies on the hall sensors in the motor to work. If these fail you're peddling! The kit I plan to use has a dual mode controller so if the hall sensors fail the bike will continue to work and perform well. Better for reliability and peace of mind. I've had it since October and have done about 112 miles on it without much fuss. It can be a lottery and some people have one problem after another. Don't let it put you off though in general they're good bikes and the build quality is good for the money you pay. I paid £900 with the 10% discount code.

@@simonjohnhinton1938 Hi Simon, I've just ordered one of these, and you make some very interesting comments, but I can't see any links for us to watch your short clips. Also could you say where you got, or will get the dual mode controller. Thanks

I have this bike.. I’d advise pumping a tyre sealant ( gunk) into the inner tubes as the tyres are very thin ..if the tyre is punctured it will come off the rim.. other than that highly recommended

Hi do you think it would be big enough for 6'1 tall person please..? Regards Lukas
@lifes4touring10 ай бұрын
Hi Lukas, the seat and handlebar rise up fairly high so i wouldn’t see an issue with your height at 6.1 tall. I'm just under 6 foot and have no issues at all. Hope this helps 😊

Hello both, we do love this bike. Do you think you would get two in the garage? We will be living full time in ours. Thanks 😊
@lifes4touring11 ай бұрын
Hi it’s a lovely bike. Not sure if you would get two in ours with the other things we take. Also we need to take into consideration the pay load as these are quite heavy. We are looking at getting another foldable lighter bike in the future maybe one that folds up a little smaller. Hopefully we can take two then. Hope this helps. Happy Travels 😊

@lifes4touring thank you it does. I think you mentioned in the video they do a lighter model than the one you have. Thanks, safe travels x

I was going to buy a folding e-bike but found them too heavy @ 25Kg ,to lift in and out of my van and car boot.
@lifes4touring11 ай бұрын
They are heavy compared to none electric bikes I would say mainly due to the battery, there normally is an option to be able to take the battery out so this can help lighten the load. 👍😊

I charge mine in a metal shed with a concrete base. Engwe batteries are actually very reliable. Never allow your batteries to go completely flat and probably charge to about 80% will ensure that your battery lasts. I have a Cao-mm rear pack that's been great giving me a total of 23ah and about 40 to 50 miles on pas 3/4.
