There are lots of things to like about your videos! My favorite takeaway from this one is linking media (especially photos) to multiple people in the tree. This is gonna be huge for family portraits especially.

I'm not quite understanding the flow. Am I going into my Photos on my mac and in effect tagging or copying a specific item there so it also appears in FTM? Later in the flow you mention Ancestry. Does the link between ~FTM and Ancestry have to be open ? If so does it automatically appear on my Ancestry tree unless I've activated the padlock or does it just sat where it is on my MacBook until I tell it to upload to Ancestry? I hope you can follow what I'm asking. My sister took a lot of headstone photos when she went down to West Wales last year so I'm interested in having them linked to FTM and Ancestry as part of my source citations. Thank you.

It will not go to your Ancestry tree until you sync your FTM to Ancestry. I think that is what you are asking?

If I add a bunch of media to my tree, and then decide later that I'd like to save space, can I change a file's classification to "link to the file where it is" or do I have to remove and re-add it?

I frequently move my media to save space, but I haven't done exactly what you're asking. However, when I do transfer my media, like moving it to an external hard drive, clicking on the photo in your tree simply prompts you to locate it so it can be relinked. I hope this helps!
