Thanks for sharing this info. It's helped me realize that I need to discuss this with my doctor. When I gave blood for myself in prep for an operation in 1998 they said that I was a bit low in iron... so I added a lot of iron rich food to my diet for the week before my operation. Then when I was accidentally knocked down last year and had my upper femur break, their tests said that I was low in iron. So they added a bag of IV iron solution for several days. I now believe that was why I felt so much better during my week at a rehab hospital. I was mentally sharp, full of energy and was cheerful and witty. That lasted for quite a while during my recovery. I want to feel that way again. Thanks for helping me put this all together.

I've never responded to a KZbin video until now but I find your journey interesting to watch. You articulate your message very well. Recently I found myself at a point where I felt I needed to learn more about the body systems and how they work and a stumbled on some very thought provoking information from Doctor Nathan Bryan and his studies of Nitric oxide. It has substantial overlaps in the information your working on now. You may find it very interesting. I'll say a prayer for you in the pursuit of your journey's.

I have chronically low ferritin, so I cook a lot of my protein in a cast iron skillet. Studies seem to indicate that this can help contribute iron to your diet.

There is also an iron fish you can put in your soup pot, or even your pitcher of water. I think it tastes weird in the pitcher of water though.

Linda Stiles I don’t bother with buying one since I cook so often in my cast iron pans. I would think water would taste very metallic.

Good luck tomorrow. I have had 2 infusions. I tolerated the infusion very well so they did not need to stop. Easy peas. Bring a book since you will just be sitting for awhile between stages. Continuing to listen to your info on this journey; I am in the same boat.

Look into the Luck Iron Fish which helps people in third world countries . Use it in drinking water, tea, soups, etc. Or use a cast iron skillet

Good luck!! Only problem with making so many changes at the same time as your infusions is that you want be able to sort out which protocols contributed to any improvements and which not.

Liver supplements are great for heme iron. I can't stand eating liver so supplements are great. 😊

How much iron do they contain though?is there any brand out there which shows how much each capsule contains?

I've read that taking Ascorbic Acid with food that is high in iron helps in absorption.

I had an iron infusion. It was non eventful. I was anxious a bit about it but it was totally fine. I took my mom with me to play games while we waited...I think mine was 4 hours but I may be remembering wrong. I found all you shared today helpful because I had gotten to a place where I felt like the supplement was going to be hindered no matter what I ate. No I have hope in proceeding in a way that will be helpful, so thank you! I will look into Krystal Moore's info too. Praying your infusion goes well and your absorption improves.

Excellent video. Our bodies are not stupid, but sometimes they need help from us to make sure what we are are eating and when we are eating and with what we are combining are the best choices for our body. Rather a run on sentence there, lol. So many people don't think about this when eating. I am glad you are sharing this part of your journey as it will others who have the same problem. Others may have symptoms that you have described and realize that they also need to do some nutritional research. You have peaked my interest in ferritin levels which my doctor never checks.

Thanks for sharing this info. The only thing that confuses me is that you’re saying on one hand that the heme iron in meat helps non heme iron in plants to be absorbed better, but on the other hand you’re saying that you want to focus more on pure carnivore food so nothing hinders the iron absorption. But the only thing that hinders the heme iron absorption is calcium, right? So if I eat some plants with my steak it will not hinder the iron absorption?
@jmom6872 жыл бұрын
Ahh welcome to my life. Another great thing to add is betaine hcl most people with low iron have low stomach acid. So this helps immensely to break down that food and absorb the iron. I'd also recommend no Dairy or calcium products 2 hours before and after. What numbers were you at regards ferritin for them to suggest the infusion. Many doctors fluctuate on this.

her last 3+ wellness videos covered that information extensively. I believe it was 9. But she has given vast amount of that information in a few videos now plus the video she did with 3 other vloggers covered it as well...

I am glad you said something about Vitamin C but other than your greens I am not seeing that in your intake. I take it daily with my thyroid medication because it is also found to help Thyroid production and absorption. One thing I did not hear you speak about are probiotics (did I miss that?). Lacto bacillus and plantarum help as well. Garden of Life puts it in all their healthy blood supplements.

I can't help but feel with all the meat You eat regularly, there must be another pathway that isn't working.... ?? I struggle to get over 50-75 grams of protein a day, & very little of that is red meat, as I am naturally drawn to veggies & fats & my iron some how takes care of itself. ?? Yes, we are all Very different... but I wonder what is or isn't going on correctly as You are very heavy & I am very short on meat consumption. I have autoimmune & other symptoms that are making my health very poor so I am not saying I'm healthy & You are not. No Ma'am! Praying for answers for both of us to get the broken ways mended! Yes please help us LORD!
