Very Good, the Drums, Flute and Guitar are nearly perfect. Two little Funfacts: There is no Bass in that Song and Michael Cretu used indeed the Korg M1, of course as Hardware. He often uses it in the Studio.
@janhinke3 жыл бұрын
The use of the Korg M1 was just a wild guess: based on the time of the origin of the track (Early 90's) and sound references I had. Thanks for this additional info!

Out of all the Logic Pro covers, your mix is amazing! I just love how you nailed all of the sounds. I like how you brought in Spire, that is a great synth. I was actually thinking of doing an Enigma Remix but found it very hard to get the Latin vocals to sync in just right and to get the grove right with the drums. How you glued everything in the mix, says to me how professional your work is. This mix is Top! Thank you 🙏

Nice work you nailed it! I want this pad sound so bad. Especially the one he uses in "Morphing through time" and all the songs on "Le Roi Et Mort" It is similar to this one but more massive with more verb on it it. I wish I could recreate it in logic.

Would you mind sharing a little bit more info on how you got those pads please? For example, did you use a Nexus 2 preset, what about Spire etc? I've always the pads in Enigma's tracks and wish I could recreate them too.
@janhinke5 жыл бұрын
Ahyeah, I used four pad sounds to make it wide and nice sounding. 3 Spire and 1 Nexus. (Nexus2: Epic Pads : Calm Down Pad) but mainly Spire. I made some Jupiter sounding pads, with slow attack and long release (not too slow/long!!) and detuned them, added a slow wide phaser, each a bit differently tuned and synced to the beat. However, I think the trick of Enigma, is the way they played the Chords. The opening chords are A-Minor & G-Major6th, for example. That extra note on the G-Major Chord makes it get that feeling.
@paulspark72875 жыл бұрын
@@janhinke thanks for that. Yeah I can't picture the Calm Down Pad being suitable (just checked it out on its own with default settings). Would you mind sharing those Spire settings please? I have yet to seriously learn how to make synth sounds - making sounds with DX7 scared me off (perhaps I should avoid FM synths) - I spend hours going through presets trying to find something but I've never came across a preset that I could stamp "Enigma" on it. Those pads in Rivers of Belief are classic sound in my mind - so smooth.
@janhinke5 жыл бұрын
Get rid of the DX7 or FM... Programming with Spire is easier. As I said, search for Jupiter sounding pads on Spire, and layer them in stereo. Use lowpass cutoff, and slow phases. It may take some time:-) Good luck.

Great remake ...How did you make the drums? Thanks
@janhinke5 жыл бұрын
It's a TR-909 (sampled and programmed in this pattern), and the snare is layered with an extra snare from the fill (at the start of the track). Very important is that short gated reverb on the snares and kick, with a pre-delay :-)
@scorepiano5 жыл бұрын
@@janhinke Thanks for your quick reply, I didnt understand how you layered the snares, at this point: "...layered with an extra snare from the fill? or layered with an extra snare fill? (at the start of the track? or at the start of each note? and How much of pre-delay did you use? 15ms? Ps. I love that snare effect from enigma and I couldnt mimic it till now.
@janhinke5 жыл бұрын
ScorePiano its a 909 snare and a snare (the first hit of the fill) together, the delay time is a 16th note (i believe)

very good attempt, I'd say that the synth pad with the shimmering metal tree is a bit in the background and is more in your face in the original, but your drums/gated verb and japan flute is spot on.
