I think most people think this song is 'Sadness'. It is not. It's an anthology of songs about the Marquis de Sade. Hence the name. I have many of his writings, but that is because I collect books, and not because I align with his beliefs.

I wasn't into dance music after the mid 80'd but I loved a lot of Enigma's' Music especially for the incorporation of Gregorian Chant and the music also sound like a lot of the New Age Music I started getting into at the time.
