That is a magnificent beast. Bike's don't get any better looking than this machine!!

Thanks for the comment and interest. I first saw a photo in Bike magazine in the 70s and I was smitten and was lucky enough to find and be able to purchase one, albeit a bit rough in 1989. Kept it for 20 years.

When BSA first saw it the director enthusiastically exclaimed, "Why it's a bloody phallus!!" You couldn't ask for more. Still a beautiful machine, designed by Craig Vetter in Rantoul, Illinois. I'm sure you'll do it justice. Floats in the carbs may still be the ones used for leaded gasoine. Amal changed the material used in the floats for unleaded gas later on if memory serves me correctly.
@BSAPowerSet2 ай бұрын
Thanks John - yes I'll be swapping the floats in the originals for the ones in the premiers as I think you are correct.

Hi,Angus. The engine sounds very good mechanically (no excessive rattles or tappet noise) The all over quality of the restoration work looks to be of a very high standard......I always think of the Hurricane as being very high up the ratings as one of the best looking motorcycles ever built. Having just mentioned tappets I wonder if it might be worth just checking to see there isn't one or two that could be a little bit too tight on clearance.
@BSAPowerSet2 ай бұрын
Hi Howard. Thanks for the comment. Yes I think it would be prudent to check the tappet clearances once the carbs are done.

I am from America and Triumphs are my Favorite Bikes since I was 12yrs. Old and in a few weeks I will be 62, if I live . Not to have HD as your favorite Bike is like treason in the US ! I have had HDs but I have more Triumphs and loved them . To listen to a machinic with a English accent gives me great confidence ! God Bless England and Triumphs.

Thanks for the interest and kind comment Duane. Glad you enjoy. You’re ok good company liking Triumphs - the late Steve McQueen and Bud Ekins to name just two of many greats.

Lovely looking machine. Interesting that the owner wants the original carbs re- installing, when other YT restorers taking off worn out originals to put Premiers on.🤔lol. I’m sure you will get to the bottom of the issue & it will be running like a peach.

Thanks for the comment and interest. I’ve got one - just forgot to take it to the location where the bike is. The first time it started 4th kick on full choke with tickling and didn’t like choke being reduced. The second time it started second kick and I could take the choke off pretty quickly.

Hi Gareth and thanks for the interest and comment. I would have considered it; however, it had plenty on all cylinders when kicking over so I don't see the need to bother unless any road test highlights any other issues.
