Spencer Day performs a Jazz cover version of Depeche Mode's "Enjoy The Silence" song, originally recorded by the UK electronic, alternative band in 1989..
The original song can be heard on Depeche Mode's 1990 studio album "Violator." The single was Gold certified in the U.S. and Germany and went on to win Best British Single at the 1991 Brit Awards.

Depeche Mode and New Order are my favorite New Wave/Alternative bands from the good ole Roq of the 80s and this song is one of my favorites. I remember Spencer played a DM song during his set at Spaghettini's in Seal Beach, California, circa 2010. He's such a talented, humble, beautiful human being. Gosh, Spence! You blow me away! Hauntingly beautiful melody! So good! Listening over and over....thank you!

I saw you live at Spaghettinis a few years back and you covered this song. I thought it was amazing then and now, it's amazing still! I feel this arrangement is a bit dangerous, but in a positive way. If you release it on the radio, it has a huge potential of being a massive hit. I just wrote you something about your songwriter half a moment ago. But about your other half- this is a good place to comment: Best pop/jazz Baritone timber, vocals and expression i know of alive today. I have a definite preference for Baritone and surfing for good pop baritones yielded David Bowie and Bing Crosby (RIP now to both). Their Christmas song was a jewel, but otherwise you get the prize. Never understood Bowie, but I will say his version of Nature Boy is right up there. And now there is one - YOU ! I do love classical, so I will let Bryn Terful or Rhys Merion occupy that position "Somewhere on the Other Side". Well, there is just not much more to say except as far as I can tell you are absolutely incredibly nice to boot!
