Do you think they might have some characters that can have a tank, a DPS, or a support loadout? So may can stay DPS but also have a tank form or sym could be DPS and support with each version being balanced differently. I think that might be a great way to try and preserve some of the synergies while keeping them manageable so as not to be as oppressive as the kinds of synergies that caused all those tank METAs.
