When you play while doing art..it is a gift..no need to study.. just practice blending colors and draw naturally because it just flows like running water without the effort..the photographic memory is important in the painter..on how to transfer the idea or face to the canvas naturally

This was sooo helpful! I just need to be more confident to paint. It's all about the colors and not painting the details as you know they are but as they look. I understand that concept that my art teacher explained to me, but when I'm drawing or painting I struggle to apply it, thinking that if I draw every detail it will be better and easier to understand, but in the end it's not.

Oh please try. I have the opposite problem. I can't draw realistically. But there's no issues with painting. It's so easy to fix something. You just play with shade and tone. You'd really be surprised how easy painting is. The first painting I did was a portrait of my grandmother. It wasn't perfect but it was a really good likeness and I was shocked that I could paint. If you can already draw, you'd be a great painter!

@@taramisrbrt7789 @skellez83 Me too, but i guess he uses a dry brush to blend, that's what i do when i'm painting. I use ''medium crilico'' (don't know the name in english, sorry), not water, so takes a little bit longer to the paint dry. But water works just fine as well...

@gtrrohit5078
@gtrrohit5078 4 жыл бұрын
Ik I'm late and I am only 15 but to blend it like that you would most likely need the use of more water but not so much that it makes transparent effects that is not what you want - and the brushstrokes would be less rough more controlled with more purpose. Also, people usually buy this special equipment that allows blending to become much easier, idk if that applies to acrylics.
@george-vk8ke
@george-vk8ke 4 жыл бұрын
@@gtrrohit5078 it does! you can buy acrylic retarder which slows down drying time so you can go back in and blend more easily at the end

Thank you SO MUCH, this is so insanely helpful. I am new to painting and was doing unusually well with watercolour paint, so figured I would try acrylics because the dry time is less frustrating... but have been getting so frustrated with myself while using acrylics because I finish a layer and feel like it looks dumb and give up. You've literally just shown me real time that anything can be fixed into something beautiful, no matter how rough it is. Thank you. I'm gonna keep working on the portrait I thought I ruined after 2 layers.
