I love mine. Dave has been amazing to work with. I met him at NAMM several years ago when he was showing the first generation. I'm sure I wasn't the only one, but I did recommend the removable lid... I've seen several other reviews where people ask about how to lock it. There is a hole near the latch that you can run a padlock through.

So are there zero overage costs when flying with this case? I know it’s under weight, but is it within dimensional parameters?
@deadbeatstudios6 жыл бұрын
I've only had issues with flying American, but any guitar case is oversize for them. It'll cost you an extra $200 if you fly American (without media credentials) no matter what :/
@jason.braatz5 жыл бұрын
I'm deep into researching whether or not to buy one of these, here's what I've found: Most airlines consider >62 inches total dimensions oversized, so while a very slim guitar hardcase could potentially slip under any single bass case you'd feel comfortable checking won't. Most airlines also have an upper limit on how oversize they'll allow (Southwest / Delta is 80, for example) but also have musical instrument policies that allow substantially larger and which this thing should fit within no problem. I'm personally sort of thinking that if bringing one bass is always going to require paying the oversize fee I might as well bring two.
@deadbeatstudios5 жыл бұрын
@@jason.braatz I've only had trouble with American - you need a media pass or license or else they'll charge you $400 extra :( But everyone else is fine, and I fly all the time.
@kztex5 жыл бұрын
@@deadbeatstudios I argued with them and referred them to their musical instrument policy. I didn't get any charges. But that was one trip.

Is that a Gibson Grabber in there? The skateboard wheels were not only a great idea but the Powell Peralta wheels look awesome! The wider the wheels are the less prone they would be to bend an axle again I would assume. I would recommend getting Grade 8 bolts if they ever do bend again. Bolts are 'graded'; 8 being the strongest. Have you ever noticed those little marks on the head of a bolt? They let you know what grade (strength) they are. If they don't have marks, then they are grade 3 (fairly weak); one mark would be grade 4; two marks would be grade 5, and so on. If they have five marks (kinda looks like a star or asterik), then they are grade 8 (3+5=you guessed it, 8). Slightly confusing and definitely long winded...but I'm sure this would be the end of bent axle bolts! Bass Clef '):

The benefit here is you won't pay weight overages; with 3 basses you'll definitely pay extra. This thing ships with two basses for under 50 lbs :) A very big deal if you fly as often as I do. Hope that helps!
