I never know what to expect when I see a video that has a title 'Enlightenment in 9 minutes', but what you are telling is spot on. I meditate a lot and have spaces between thoughts but I've never focussed on those spaces in particular. I'm going to do that and see what it does for me! Thanks a lot for posting this and love to all!

Excellent video. If you practice this daily you will find that you can remain in the enlightened state for long periods. Just one of the joys of this state, is that it really affects those around you. People will become more positive and happier just because you are around. It's beautiful to watch

Emptiness of thoughts in sanskrit is known as chid akasha or pure space open minded consciousness. Some of us may get a glimpse which will produce a paradigm shift, which many call today an awakening. This is partial and most find it hard to hold or sustain that state. Dhyana means meditation, as in dharanis which are subtle objects that concentration fixes itself upon and aligned in dharma or reality of the present moment with awareness the prefix dh is known as that which holds. So sustain we need dh or to hold these positive states, which is accompanied by sa, samatha and samadhi, sa means to flow so dh and sa means to hold and flow, this is the sustained state of the awareness in chdakash.

What if you simply realize the truth? The truth that there isn't anything to find or lose. The truth that nothing is missing that there isn't anything that is lacking from our being. The truth that our true nature is love, joy, peace and happiness just like a little child at play. The truth that the ego is just a mental concept a self image we have created and only exists within the mind and is illusory not existing in reality. The truth that we are no the doer but that all of our actions are part of the chain of cause and effect and that life is just happening of itself and it is the ego that asserts itself as the doer of action. If we really get that is that enlightenment?

You have described TM which I have practiced for years. However the breathing is also accompanied by a mantra. The use of the mantra might help the Autumn above as that is the point of the mantra. When these thoughts occur you mentally repeat the mantra. At some point the use of the mantra becomes less. Just a tool not needed. Working on astral projection and use switching between focusing on breathing and looking at the black behind my eyes. Body asleep mind awake is tough.

This is similar to contemplative prayer. I never fight with thoughts when they enter my mind, I recognize them, say hello to them, and let them drift slowly by.....as if gently floating down a river, and the pass on by. :)

1 Hi my friend, you have quite a pure intention ~ alot of sincerity. * I agree that taking up the 'witness-position' is very good, and is an expression of the enlightened point of view. However I would say E goes also further than that. You can experience that you are the all-pervading effulgence that fills the entire universe, of your experience. To see that everything happens within the vast space of your awareness - that you fill All. The witness not just as a point but as all space.

Enlightenment is dis-indentification from the personal self - which is a psychological construct. The persoanal self has the ability to observe the mind i.e. in psychology it´s said that the I-self can observe the me-self. Having no conceptual thoughts is not being dis-identified from the personal self i.e. I-self. There is still usually the sense of the persona named such-and-such etc. It´s still being identified as the meditator in this case. Having the personal self also "shut off", so to speak, is a bit more rare and difficult. And meditating, having no thoughts, can be a stepping stone towards that, but having no thoughts is by no means enlightenment yet. Inititally still quite far from it both timewise and experientally.

You have so much light and love in your eyes ♡ I felt every word you said. Havent been meditating in years? As I though the effect is really short -lived.once i go back to the hassle of everyday life my negativity returns. But your words rang the bell for me - the trick is to keep it , and carry the 'emptiness' and choose your thoughts through the day. What about food, what diet do u suggest, or is besides the point if you 'pracrice' enlightnment properly? Thank you Light Soul ♡

Enlightenment can happen immediately it is realised there is no self,therefore no ego or person............ thoughts automatically slow down even stop on their own,a sense of great peace is experienced,but no one actually experiences it... it just is.......... but the ego can claim it as a prize,that is not enlightenment.... Oh I am enlightened !....no. The caterpillar wants to fly like a butterfly but still remain a caterpillar, there's no such thing as a flying caterpillar. ! so beware of the minds trickery it will try anything to to stay as ego.. Enlightenment is a sense of no one or no thing in particular. "Before Enlightenment chop wood fetch water, someone does it. After Enlightenment chop wood fetch water,no one does it."

Don't "do" anything. Don't fight with them or think "I'm not 'supposed' to be having these thoughts!" This will distract you. Simply see the thoughts, say "oh, there they are" and go back to being mindful and sitting in silence.

@MrChava685 Enlightenment is simply our true nature. You are confusing spiritual maturity with religious fundamentalism and in your confusion you use arguments for spiritual maturity to enforce fundamentalism. The experience of Enlightenment may be hard for some people, but that does not mean it can only be taught based on one tradition, precept or path. Remember the Buddha gave 84.000 different teachings expressing the “Vital Point” and “quintessential meaning: recognize your essence."

You describe entering into jhana states and call this enlightenment. Jhana states in themselves however are temporary, as you will have experienced.
@theUnmanifest5 жыл бұрын
Jhana states begin with focusing on one point/dot/object. then a tunnel vision, then stability in that state... what he explains is experiencing ishvara/buddha nature/emptiness/stillness/the unmanifest/the natural state/awareness (whatever you want to call it) directly, to experience life AS emptiness, as opposed to experience life as a character going through life as it is experienced for most, almost all of the time. a stream enterer is someone who notices a break in the seeming continuity of identity, once. this break is a simple gap, a fraction of a second to experience awareness itself only without the illusion of a separate self for that moment. from this point on, the meditator can establish himself in that space, making that gap more frequent and longer. the ego construct will fall apart and crumble in obvious chunks, until this gap stretches and becomes our entire life. To exist as this space, 24/7 is to live as ourselves, is to be free.

If elightenment is my true nature I suppose I should experience it all the time. Hence to only be enlightened and to experience it when thoughts are absent doesn't make sense to me. This "nothingness", "emptyness", "space" or how you wanna call it is witnessed by me, awareness. This awareness is always present no matter if thoughts or "emptyness" is experienced. I tried for years to make this state of no thought permanent. But to have no thought all the time is impossible and very frustrating.

i end up with a solid thought of myself when my mind is clear, part of it is reality, but some of it is imagination. The feeling of my face is real, but i cant know at that moment what my face looks like without a thought. The thought has various levels of subtlety, from the pure I thought to a 2nd person perspective of what i'd imagine myself to look like to someone else. Not sure what to do now lol :(

I'm 17 years old. I've studied for 2 years voluntarily to myself. Many subjects, many past experiences. I used to sit in my room and think for hours on end, now to find that I shouldn't be. It seems to me, That when I close my eyes; Breathe in and out; that I never have the slightest bit of thought anymore. Yet still attached somehow. Is there anything else I should practice?

The technique you have demonstrated here is a good one. Very helpful for people but it does not give true spiritual enlightenment to the average person using this technique. Im sorry to tell you that true enlightenment is much more than what you have said here. To attain enlightenment a person must master the concept of non duality fully 100%. They must experience realty as it really is rather than through ego. If you manage to do this you will feel bliss or nirvana which is more profound than the calm feeling you get from the meditation you have described in the video. I don't mean to discredit you as what you are teaching here is great it's just that it is not true enlightenment. For most people enlightenment takes many years. Decades even. In fact it takes many lifetimes. Not the nine minutes that you claim here.

enlightenment is a myth. who is going to do it? ask this: what's the next thought? what's the next thought? there is no response. the mind is quiet (feels good). quiet because an IDEA asks the question. you are not the thinker. conceptualization has no author. the mind is in the painting. how could it ever identify the painter? buddha called thought the 6th sense. you do nothing to see, hear, taste, touch, smell or think. you are powerless. the powerless witnessing of manifestation!.

@EMHmark78 жыл бұрын
"This is what enlightment is." Oups! Nop! It is awakening the freed conscience to the 6 dimension (shamadi state). But one needs to free parts of conscience before it can be awakened. And yes, "stopping the mind" and not identifying with the mind are the first steps. Some say this is meditation. It is a kind. But the real one is when one conscience reaches the 6th dimension (causal plan) So, it is not because one practices meditation that meditation is acheived. Most importantly, in order to have some more free essence available for enlightment, one needs to burn some ego.
