Omg thank you so much. I’m 17 years old and I have so much anxiety about my future and college. And I start to feel guilty because all my friends are going to University and I’m going to college because I failed some of my courses because I’ve been a loser throughout my high school. And for the past 2 years I have only gone outside like 10 times. No social life introverted asf. If I was ur client I would be the worst client. My life is shambles and I don’t know what to do. My mom is barely keeping me and her from going homeless. All this sadness and guilt I’m feeling are actually good because it’s what makes me human I guess.

That‘s what many people feel and why we are in search for a better view on life. Jesus taught us to not resist the „evil“ and to be okay with suffering too. Just don‘t label it as suffering, don’t link it to thoughts, just see it as an energy playing out in the awareness of the body. It stops being a problem and starts being the „what is“ and it is okay. If overwhelming trauma appears, stop inquiring, just gently stroke your wrist and tell yourself „it‘s okay, I am here“ or start watching an easy and uplifting movie or series or talk with others about your state or go out into nature or cuddle with your pet if you have one or with someone you love… In truth it is what appears in consciousness whilst consciousness itself is free from all appearance. It is the confusion of identity that makes one suffer from appearances rather than resting in being while appearances just fill the periphery of view.

@@tutorial9322 beautifully said. I can't believe that was even my writing that a year ago. because now my life has completely changed in a year. Although we are still struggling financially, we have somehow thanks to god made it through. I am way more social than anyone I know, and I really don't care about most the things I said before that were previously important to me. Now I just keep researching about religions, secrets of this world, the truth, and the lies that these governments have been perpetrating. I've been so stuck up on finding the truth, but unfortunately unless if you are a part of those billionaires, you will probably never know the truth. Aside from that, I've been taking care of face tryna look the best I can, and going gym a few times a week. Now my issues is with action taking. I need to start finding a job and start helping my single mother, and focus on my school to get better grades.

In a word, enlightenment is contentment. Contentment with whatever situation or feelings. Not holding onto or identifying with them . "I am angry, I am sad". No. "Feelings of anger, feelings of sadness". Done. Not "I am sick, I am unwell". No. You are none of them. They're just things that happen.
@enlightenedwriter
@enlightenedwriter Жыл бұрын
A fine description but contentment is not enlightenment. Contentment is one catalyst and result for being it, enlightenment itself is a bit more than that. For example there are things about enlightenment that have nothing to do with being content. Ironically an example of this is realising that you shouldn’t be content with everything. Some things are better off being let go an moving on from.
@enlightenedwriter
@enlightenedwriter Жыл бұрын
You got the picture, but correct me if i misinterpreted this. But did you imply that we should have our minds wired by other influences and live by them? Cause if it was, that’s the opposite enlightenment. Enlightenment means to separate yourself from influencers and live by nothing but your truth. And thus freeing yourself from karma. It’s in the name. En-lighten-ment your soul gets light-end. Up. The idea is that it gets lighter so there is nothing holding you grounded so you can’t ascend/align with yourself. Instead of disconnecting with yourself and living by other things.

enlightenment is a dissolution of the attachment to a self, so there is no "self" experiencing the sadness/fear/stress etc... so i disagree completely. but either way i like the video alot and think its a good message but saying that its enlightenment is not the case

There is still a self or you are dead... You are just not attached to it, it is like playing a character, its not that you dont feel anything but whatever you do feel cannot really hurt you or affect you no matter what. But even so, enlightened people too of course die but not just that, if you drugged them and beat them up and torture them they would probably lose touch with the enlightenment as well, maybe with some exceptions like jesus possibly

@Ch4rLz tHa PrInCe i mean the "self" or ego is a false construction that on a true level doesn't really exist, in buddhism its sometimes referred to as the small self and the higher/big self is the true authentic soul. which is beyond the rising and falling of the body/emotions/mind the small self is the thing that gets trapped in the response of "this is good" "this is bad" "i like this person" "i hate this person" "i am angry" "i am happy" it only works in duality's and judgments, the higher self is beyond dual thinking, beyond the body, beyond the emotions.

Something seems off about this way of thinking to me, feeling sad=emotional pain, is an indication that something is wrong, and something should change, and you need to figure that out, not just disassociate from the feeling and convince yourself that it means the complete opposite. For me, enlightenment isn't accepting that things that make us sad (cruelty, innocents suffering) will always exist, and suppressing the sadness, but rather realizing that we can do good things, and stop evil, even if it means dying in this dimension, through enlightenment you realease and detach from the fear of death, so you won't tolerate or be coerced to do evil, because you know you'll be inexplicably infinitely safe, rewarded, appreciated in the other dimension/heaven.

It's taking yourself out of yourself to understand that you're important as a piece of the puzzle of your life community. You deserve days where you can be sick and recover, feel sad or angry and stew in it for as long as you need. Then come back and bless people when you're able. The enemy is your perception of the world's view on you in the moment, which inhibits your true self from being expressed as it should.

So, Buddhism works this way. Buddha said, 'If you suffer, you suffer because you desire, and your desires are either unattainable or always being disappointed or something. So cut out desire.' So, those disciples went away, and they stamped on desire, jumped on desire, cut the throat of desire, and threw out desire. But then they came back, and Buddha said, 'But you are still desiring not to desire. How do you get rid of that?' So when you see that, that's nonsense, there naturally comes over you a quietness. And seeing that you cannot control your mind, you realize there is no controller. What you took to be the thinker of thoughts is just one of the thoughts; what you took to be the feeler of the feelings, which could be some chronic muscular strain, is just one of the feelings; what you took to be the experience of experience is just part of the experience. So, there isn't any thinker of thoughts or feeler of feelings. We get into that bind because we have a grammatical rule that verbs have to have subjects. Now, the funny thing about that is that verbs are processes, and subjects are nouns, which are supposed to be 'things'. How does a noun start a verb? How does the thing put a process into action? Obviously, it can't. However, we always insist that there is this subject called the 'knower', and without the knower, there can't be knowing. Well, that's just a grammatical rule; it isn't a rule of nature. In nature, there's just knowing.

There was a guru called Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj and he was considered enlightened. He had a business he had kids and he was a huge smoker. He just saw everything for what it is. It's changed his view on life and death but didn't change him as an everyday person. Matter of fact this Guru said there is no enlightenment these are just words created by human beings, go beyond words, living and dying are just ideas. Go beyond ideas. By the way I'm just paraphrasing. Julian you always have something great to say.

But what I want to know is why enlightenment happens. If God is us and he wants to be lost in the illusion, why do some of us end seeing beyond the illusion?

You are conditioned right now looking for happiness externally. You have to generate happiness from within. Ask yourself, "what am I trying to get externally to fulfill my happiness?" This could be money, relationship, sex, materials (cars, jewelry, house), status, etc. The more you expect happiness to come from external sources, the more you become deprived and depressed. "How can I become happy from within?" This is where Julien and Owen are spreading their wisdom. Step 1 is to know that happiness comes from within. Step 2 is to seek out how.

I think this is just self-awareness that you can achieve by just changing your mindset or learning to control it. Honestly, I do not think many people are truly enlightened. I remember reading some work by Swami Vivekananda, Crowley, and some others and it appears to me that enlightenment is the effect of some meditative insight achieved through years of spiritual practice. For this reason I do not think there are many enlightened people in the world.

A tad hyperbolic on the "joy at sadness" example but probably meant to contextualize the way past conditioning influences our response to events. Heard a phrase before akin to "it's not what happens that matters but how you feel about it." Consciously settling into a comfortable "frame" while the instinctive, reactionary mind tugs your emotions elsewhere seems like a constant barrier during times of trepidation.

Seems like negative emotions compound without understanding them. They become a chronic state of emotional debt one acclimates the definition of themselves to in ignorance of the deeper domain of belief that makes it possible or impossible to grow from negative things.

great video, explains this concept so much better than all of the channels that seem like they want people to ignore anything negative. life's like a battery, you need positives and negatives for it to work. it's up to you how you channel that energy. thanks for posting all of these videos, they've been a huge help with a ton of things

YOU don’t get angry when you are enlightenment. The anger is there, but it’s not your. That’s the difference

Yes! Emotions never cause us to suffer... It's our attachment and resistance to feeling certain emotions that cause that.

What a toolbox. Post enlightenment there is no “you”, therefore there is no “you” to feel sad about anything. You are merely the observer.
