Burpies need to be renamed it's like the push-up, but like in vidyagames when you do a new version of a move that gets an extra action or effect at the end therefore I suggest a renaming to "Stage 2 Push-up" or "Advanced Push-up"

my university uses zoom for class and I love it because I don't want to add any of my teachers or classmates on discord (and it has cool school-related features like splitting up a room into sections and being able to raise your hand). I'm a sucker for allocating different activities to different places, and therefore can't work out outside of the gym :(

My personal thoughts on the topic of enlightenment is that people need to both have all their physical needs adequetly met and feel a constant sense of accomplishment in their life to feel enlightened as this two things pretty much make anyone happy both on an internal physical level and a more conscious logical level. And that most of the problems people have today are with finding passions or jobs that they want achieve something with or actually getting the feeling personal accomplishment in their proffesion.

Good to hear the lad Fit will be coming on next week. Looking forward to it. On the subject of McAfee, unironically get him on but he will only be on for serious to semi-serious questions about himself and his zeitgeist. Maybe bonus episode?? 👁 👀

I've been a DM since I was like 9, and by now I have enough practice that I pretty much only improv my sessions. Also helps that I have a decade of setting-building behind me, so I always have a huge archive of things to pull from if I don't know what to do next. It's the kind of hobby you grow better at exponentially faster than any other hobby. 2 years of most hobbies and your still a newbie, 6 months of DMing and you're an expert.

I think the value of a lot of experiences comes from realizing that the experience was kind of overrated, not a big deal, and didn't give you what you thought it would. But you have to have the experience to truly understand that you didn't need the experience in the first place. wow it is so deep and paradoxical

(more thoughts as I continue to listen to this) I think the most meaningful things in life are the things are like BECAUSE they are a struggle, which is why the pleasure machine might not sound appealing or why happiness in and of itself might not be a worthwhile goal. I think that's why people create games and other forms of self-imposed challenges. Probably because struggle in an inevitable part of existence so the best strategy is to just embrace it. yada yada something something myth of Sisyphus

Completely agree with Hippo's complaints about Ninja Suffering. It's fun but it's biggest weakness is sometimes you are destined to lose based on burgers spawning in bad locations you can't access, or them spawning infrequently.

2:13:00 First of all, your SpeakPipe is set up to allow messages that are less than 90 seconds, and mine was only 75. It took you longer to badly describe my point than it would've to play it, so saying it was "too long" is bullshit. Now, what I actually said was that 90% of voicemails on the show are terrible, a rant inspired by Ep 208's especially bad set. The gist was that the PCP, being a talk show between friends, is a terrible format to even *have* a voicemail segment for. The reason it worked on something like Biggest Problem in The Universe is that they start each episode discussing last week's problems, which is a convenient and relevant time to play the viewer feedback they got about those topics. The PCP, by comparison, has random and fluid topics each week, and so what a viewer might have to say about the Weird Utilitarianism last week is no longer relevant in an episode where you just spent the last hour talking about Pokemon. As a result, because people can't really comment on what you said last time, nor do they know ahead of time what you'll be talking about this week, the only thing left when you say, "Send us voicemails!" is to try and be funny, which because your audience is filled with spergs, ends terribly. My point was not "topics are good" but rather "Voicemails fit the format of your show terribly, and shouldn't be a segment.".

HARD DISAGREE. Submitting a voicemail to weigh in on last weeks topic is PERFECTLY FINE and not a problem at all. I'm not so braindead that I can't remember what was discussed just 7 days ago - and if I'm binging PCP episodes at the time it may have been as recent as just a few hours. Besides, plenty of voicemails suggest new and interesting topics that can spawn their own 20+ minute discussions, which is perfectly good PCP content IMO. You said yourself that the PCP has random and fluid topics each week. No idea why it would be such a problem to discuss Weird Utilitarianism and Pokemon in the same episode when they've had multi-topic episodes for the past year at least. I really have no idea what point you were trying to make there. As far as the "funny" voicemails go, I agree that Nate needs to step up his game in regards to quality control BUT EVEN THEN shitty voicemails can still be entertaining for the spectacle of everyone dunking on them (and Nate) and throwing them into the Voice Jail for their crimes. Lastly, there have actually been a few really funny voicemails on occasion and I would really hate for them to give that up. Syy? More like _sigh_

I don't see the point in making up huge backstories for characters in dnd considering often times character concepts don't survive past the third session.
@williancruz96574 жыл бұрын
The best way to do it imo is making like 3 or 4 bullet points per session, so over time the character grows and you always have new aspects to play around with so it doesn't get boring

Y'all are cowards, bodyweight workouts are fine, just put on a podcast and find some fitnessblender youtube workout guide and mute it and force yourself to workout every day before letting yourself work on whatever creative project you want to actually work on It lets you get creative work done better cause you burn all the energy that would otherwise leave you feeling restless or anxious

Very blue pilling talk here. Can't believe anyone actually want to be happy as a main goal. Blows my mind. Life is suffering pain, live hard, live big, get powerful, die hard, leave a powerful splatter people talk about forever.
@Ignore144 жыл бұрын
Wouldn't you say that "leaving a powerful splatter" gives you a sense of satisfaction, aka happiness? People say you shouldn't be happy and instead find a purpose, when the two are actually one and the same. Everything we do is just the pursuit of satisfying some desire.
