I like this pretty introspective and genuine episode. Mage is not talked over, Nate does not go overboard witht he memes, I think this is a good crew for a smaller cast.

For the record, I think the new PCP theme is great. The joke of my voicemail is that I fall down the stairs at the end. The joke of my life is that the fall happens 0.2 seconds after everyone gets fed up with the poor smashmouth cover I used as a setup. But such is the scientific process.

About a month ago I got the tip of my middle finger sliced off by a lawn mower blade as well as mangled the tips of my ring and pointer fingers, all on my dominant hand. Nearing the tail end of my recovery and the fingers are mostly normal in terms of wounds closing, skin growing back, getting more functionality back so that's pretty sick. Not that anyone would actually care, but I figured I might as well share my short tale of woes on the injury podcast.

I’m currently in school to become a dietitian and I can definitely say the healthiest diet by far is plant based whole foods. Keto is useful for short term rapid weight loss, but the excessive cholesterol will build up in your arteries and can lead to heart failure. A well planned plant based diet is perfectly viable and healthy for all stages of life, and can absolutely give all of the proper nutrients you need whether your trying to bulk up or slim down. I can provide help/sources for anyone curious! Just wanna help y’all be healthy 💚

The main conceit I have against the "mods are better" argument is like what Nate said: modders will always have the benefit of hindsight. Even with indie titles that are essentially mods made from the ground up, there will always be something that can be tweaked in post. I think Tod is really doing a disservice to the work that devs are putting into putting the games that inspire people to make these mods to begin with, in addition to creating games with brand new ideas in the first place.

(copypastad from a random reddit thread) "To answer this question, we need to consider the geometry of the disk itself. The floppy disk, while appearing as a plastic square, actually contains a small magnetic disk. Within the floppy drive are two magnetic read/write heads, one for each side of the disk. Each side of the disk, then, is broken into tracks. These tracks are concentric rings on the disk. On a 1.44 MB floppy, there are 80 such rings on each side. Then each track is broken into 18 sectors, or blocks of data. These sectors are each 512 bytes of data. So, doing the math, we have 2 sides * 80 tracks * 18 sectors = 2,880 total sectors in the 1.44 MB floppy disk. Interestingly, the MB isn't the traditional MB used in computing. For floppy disks, the MB indicates 2000 512B sectors (or 1,024,000B). So, as you can see, geometrically the disks were 1.44MB in their terminology (but really, they were closer to 1.47MB)."

Floppies are called that because the actual memory storage device is a flexible, or floppy, disk. The rigid outside is a protective case for the disk.

43:19 no idea about the context of what those people are saying but I'm not sure if you guys know there are 2 general types of fat, saturated fat and unsaturated fat, saturated fat is the bad one that junk food normally has that clogs on your arteries and the unsaturated ones are the ones that are actually healthy for you so technically both sides are partially correct

Ayy, an injury episode! I'm like nate. The worst thing that I ever had was I was figure skating and I fell in a very unusual way and cut my chin. I had to get 7 stitches but it barely bled and tbh the trouble of getting to a hospital to have it checked out was worse than the actual injury in terms of negative experince. ALSO. Tom if you wanna find nerds that stay inside all day, you pretty much have to meet them over the internet and then get a meetup going in real life if you so desire.

Spoilers:Goblin Slayer is not epic. Actual Spoilers: Goblin slayer actually wants to kill goblins because they killed his older sister who he looked up to, and he was just a normal happy guy before that.

Well it's more of his whole village got killed and he saw his older sister getting raped and eventually killed. He saw all of that as a child so of course that's going to traumatized him and want to kill all the goblins.

Ik this is late af and no-one probably cares with this being 4 years after this came out but the goblin slayer anime is based off of the light novels not the manga, so the glorificstion nate was mentioning was in the manga and a reflection of the manga artist, not necessarily the oroginal author. Also on the topic of goblins being compared to jewish people there is a slight connection in terms of how they originally were created as a negative depiction of jewish people way back in the day in Europe, but in recent times with how prevelant goblins are in media, theres like no connection left in like 99.99% of cases(including goblin slayer ofc). At this point in time goblins are really just a public domain generic Fantasy enemy

Mods and romhacks can be amazing additions to already existing experiences, but that's the key. I think Crystal is a 10/10 brilliant masterwork, and that base experience is the giant shoulder Crystal Clear stands on. The biggest and most important reason that CC is a triumph is that base Crystal was also a triumph nearly 20 years before it.

"I want to try and work on bigger things" Look, Best Guy Ever. This isn't an excuse, this isn't even an obstacle. For your patrons, for your fans, for youtube algorithm, for your own youtube art career, investing a million hours into something like this isn't going to aid you in achieving your goals in any of these areas, bar your own self satisfaction, Your TTGL reviews LESS VIEWS THAN YOUR SMASH MEME VIDEOS. There's a place for big videos and big content, but as you can see from Digi's self-admitted bankruptcy, if you spend too much time fucking around for Big Videos that may or may not even get made, which may or may not even be worth that much in subs, patrons or views, (which is even more likely if you aren't uploading consistently due to the algorithm of KZbin!), then your effort will be WASTED. I want you to purge the artist inside you for a moment and consider this: From a purely utilitarian standpoint, what will your big videos achieve that smaller ones cannot?

To make where I stand on the matter clear, I defend goblin slayer's use of rape as a writing tool but think the show/manga overall is mediocre at best. Pretty generic and boring IMO. Let me try to add my 2 cents and explain why some people maybe aren't affected by violence in shows like attack on titan but are by the rape in goblin slayer. I can only speak for the US. I believe our society is desensitized to fake violence. (emphases on fake because people still react when they know it's real or it happens in front of them) We see it everywhere and it's socially acceptable to enjoy violence in our media. Rape on the other hand is pretty rare to come by and people haven't been exposed to the idea as much to become desensitized by it. Once we have an E Sports with rape simulator 2000 where the goal is to rape as fast as possible then maybe people won't be out raged. Or when it's socially acceptable to enjoy the masterpiece that is the rance series. I think it's silly to compare people's reaction to fake murder with their reaction to fake rape. Now that doesn't mean rape should be banned in stories but it's understandable why some people bitched so much.
