Lmao, this reminds me of a funny story that my parents told me a while ago. It might be impossible to believe, but when I was born I apparently was purple all over and had a cone-shaped head. Like legitimately, an actual fucking cone as a head haha. I don't exactly remember why it happened or what the cause was, but it ended up going away and according to the hospital staff it was a miracle I managed to survive and would actually be able to live a normal and healthy life. Apparantly they said, and I quote, "someone was watching over him". Both of my sisters had normal births, so it's weird that it was just isolated to me. Crazy stuff haha (although I do wonder if that's the reason I feel so much like a dumbass sometimes, like the equivalent of a baby being dropped on their head or something haha ) Anyways, thanks for the stream! I absolutely love these NijUK collabs, because they're always just so much fun! Maybe I'm being a little sentimental when I say this, but I really do feel that Millie and the others bring out the best in you. Like, in the sense that I can tell how comfortable and appreciated you feel around them, which I think is honestly amazing. I doubt there's many things better in life than having people around who you know genuinely love and appreciate you for who you are, while always trying their best to lift you up and be there for you. Life can suck sometimes so I'm glad that you guys have eachother in your lives, and I'm genuinely happy for you all. Okay I know way too much about the Disney Princesses so I will dump my knowledge about it here to answer any questions from this stream (not that anyone will read it): - Tinker Bell was a former Disney Princess, yes. Honestly, it sounds like the main reason why she stopped being one was because Disney wanted to launch the Disney Fairies franchise. Now, Disney Fairies doesn't exist anymore, but Tinker Bell just has her own brand. HOWEVER, it is worth noting that I do come across some Disney Princess-themed items that feature Tinker Bell!! The last time I was in a Disney Store (summer 2021), they had a Disney Princess back to school set with a folder and organized notebook. The set featured illustrations of Disney Princess characters in the Disney Animator's Collection style, so the folder had Moana on it, and the notebook had a repeating pattern of Pocahontas, Aurora, and Tinker Bell. Very interesting! In the hierarchy of "honorary Disney Princesses" though, she is definitely towards the bottom of the list, if we don't count her time from actually being in the franchise. I think Alice (from Alice in Wonderland) is featured as a Disney Princess more often, technically. - They did NOT stop making Disney Princesses that are princesses, actually! Technically Moana is the only recent Disney Princess who is technically not a princess, but she serves a similar role in her community. Raya (from Raya and the Last Dragon, 2021) was actually referred to as a princess in her movie and has recently been officially added to the Disney Princess line-up. She doesn't really appear in artwork yet, and her headshot isn't listed with the other characters on the website, but her silhouette is included with other Disney Princess silhouettes in the Disney+ banner on the Disney Princess website, her presence is included in some video ads and one of the printouts (without the verbal or written distinction that she is not a Disney Princess, unlike how Disney always specifies "Disney Princess and Frozen" whenever Anna and Elsa are included outside of Ralph Breaks the Internet), and at Hasbro's investor day in 2021, they included pictures of Raya dolls under their section about Disney Princess doll lines. So, it's safe to say she will be fully integrated in the franchise sometime soon. Fun fact, she is also the second asian Disney Princess, since Kumandra, the fictional world in which she lives, is supposed to represent southeast asia, and she is currently the only Disney Princess to have the same non-white racial identity as a previous Disney Princess. (UPDATE: Just checked and VERY RECENTLY, like within the past month, Raya became an official Disney Princess via social media lol, but I stand by everything written here because there's not really any Disney Princess toy sets that include her in artwork yet.) - Contrary to what people might think: no, Anna and Elsa are not Disney Princesses, and the reason why is not because they are both queens. Originally, Frozen was intended to be a Disney Princess movie, actually! But, get this, it was just too overwhelmingly successful. From a marketing standpoint, the Disney Princess brand exists in order to boost the Princess character merch sales overall, but especially boost the less popular ones (I don't think anyone outside of the animation community would really talk about Snow White as much as they do if this brand didn't exist). Frozen just happened to exceed expectations, so there was no reason not to just make it its own brand. But, since it does aesthetically fall into the Disney Princess category and a lot of the marketing is very similar, Anna and Elsa are considered honorary Disney Princesses and are occasionally grouped together with the other ones, like in Ralph Breaks the Internet or some of the stuff on the Disney website. Now, you might be wondering why there are princess-type characters from other Disney movies that aren't in the franchise. Well, there is such a thing as being too unsuccessful lol, so that's why characters from Atlantis and The Black Cauldron and stuff are consistently snubbed. Furthermore, Disney doesn't really count the direct-to-video sequels for anything. The only reason why Giselle from Enchanted isn't a Disney Princess (even though she was going to be) is because I think Disney would have had to get the rights to Amy Adams and stuff (and she's mostly live-action). - Okay, so the question of whether there is a latina Disney Princess is actually a bit of a complicated situation. For full context, I have to mention that in 2012, Disney Junior released a show called Sofia the First, which is based on the Disney Princess line. The series follows a little girl named Sofia, who used to be a commoner until her mom married the king, and now has to get used to royal life. In the series, she is given a magical amulet, the Amulet of Avalor, that connects all the Disney Princesses together and can summon one in case she needs help (also the amulet can grant her certain powers for good deeds, but we'll ignore that for now lol). Sofia is not a Disney Princess herself, however, and one would think, "well, obviously, she is from a Disney Junior show, and she is also like, 6 years old" but hold on a second. There was some discourse because Sofia was supposed to be latina in the series. However, this ended up getting pretty much entirely erased in the final product, disappointing a lot of people. Then, in 2016, a spin-off series was released (which does actually tie into the plot of Sofia the First), which was titled Elena of Avalor, and it aired on Disney Channel for a couple years before being moved to Disney Junior as well. Basically, Elena was trapped within the amulet after a witch attacked and took over her kingdom, Avalor. After Sofia sets her free, she undergoes training to become queen and learns how to fulfill her duties as the princess of Avalor. Elena is very explicitly latina and, aside from being tied to Sofia the First, the series is very much its own show and can be viewed independently without the knowledge of any Disney Princesses or even Sofia the First. So, since she is so standalone and she is also latina, Disney considers her both an honorary Disney Princess and also the "first latina Disney Princess" (which sounds like more of an excuse than anything tbh). This means that, because she is from a TV show that aired on cable television and the general public will probably not know who she is (remember that a portion of the Disney Princess demographic is adults too), she is not featured in a lot of Disney Princess art or merchandise. If you see a Disney Princess commercial or doll line, it will most likely, almost DEFINITELY, not include Elena. However, Elena appears at some of the Disney Princess things in the Disney Parks and stuff like that. If you see a commercial for Disney Princess on Disney Junior, it may include Elena. So clearly, she is even below Anna and Elsa in the "honorary Disney Princess" hierarchy, but Disney still has the audacity to call her the "first latina Disney Princess" for publicity. If you only count strictly official Disney Princesses that are consistently included in the line-up, there is no latina Disney Princess as of now. Mirabel (from Encanto) technically could become a Disney Princess, but something about the movie's structure really makes me think she won't.
