'Saying... "I can't do that for you" does not equate to "I don't love you."' - gold right there. Thanks Ian. Well stated. "Stay engaged, your presence matters." Amen.

Loved the comparison between 9 and 2s. This is great. I'm a 9... With 6 children.... Avoid self forgetting is a struggle for me and so is journaling 😂

Thinking out loud: I'm very 9 in my personal, work, marriage life, but not with the kids. I'm not permissive at all. Pretty strict, don't mind confrontation, high expectations. Maybe 1 or 8 like?

My parenting pulls out my 1 wing I think. Parenting is just a different dynamic animal than those other relationships you mention. At least for me it is. So I'm with you in that.

Experts often refer to similarites between 2 and 9, but not as much the 4 and 9. A self declared 9 was arguing on social media a few days ago that Ian is a mistyped 9, (I disagreed with them. I don't think everyone understands that it isn't the behavior, but the motivation and we can't possibly know anyone's motivation) and I am waffling between 4 and 9 as well. I would like to hear how other people have sifted through that decision.

Hi, I always thought that I'm 4 with wings of 3. This was whole my teen years. But in my adult life I found out that I'm actually 9 with wings of 1. Exspecialy in parenting. Now I know for sure, but still 4 isn't so unfamiliar for me...
