The joy is always in the work and not the accolades

I always find Eno to be an astounding lyricist. Information: "Eno took The Winkies as his backing band in February 1974, on his first and only solo tour. The outing ended after the sixth date of the schedule in Guilford, after which Eno was rushed to the hospital suffering from a collapsed lung. In March 1974 the John Peel BBC radio show broadcast four songs from the February 1974 performances - "The Paw Paw Negro Blowtorch", a medley of "Totalled" (I’ll Come Running) plus "Baby's on Fire" and a cover version of "Fever".

Just another reminder of how refined and brilliant this track became on AGW.

Eno is one of the guys in Popmusic who will never gets what he deserves, his work with Roxy Music, his first amazing records, his work with Bowie,Byrne,Manzanera, 801 , his Ambient Work, as a producer he is responsible for about 10 Classic albums ( i picked a number ,for me all his work is classic) U2 knows why ...

I'll find a place somewhere on the carpet I'm gonna waste the rest of my days To all the dreadful things you might ask me Condemned to life as an ashtray I want to be your silver service I want to be your smallest room And when you have to keep an engagement Just leave me here, I'll wait in the gloom I'll come running to tie your shoe

Such a rockin' version! It's not at all the winsome feel that I find so appealing on the album version. The out tro is like the 801 version. New angles are also interesting.

Aftertaste is rather bitter with light medicinal notes on the nose. Spicy overtones are appreciated with Christmascomings. Overall a somewhat disappointing imperial stout.

@@philallwright3351 Agreed. And I have it on a CD titled Dali's Car. Has several tracks, all Eno with The Winkies.
