But who will carry the conceptual View 3?! A Wi-Fi only variant is more useful than the cellular variant when it comes to the regional support, just like with the Home Sync box.

I love my View 1. I can't believe how well they held their value.

Got my View 2 the day before yesterday. The sleeve carrying case fits like a glove. But I took some personal initiative and took a blanket, put Styrofoam on the inside, giving more protection. I took it to an Alterations shop and they did all the sewing for me. Now my View 2 is protected. After taking it out of box, plugging it up so it could be fully charged, I turned it on yesterday to set it up. I use Apex Launcher Pro as my standard set up. One of my biggest issues with the original View is that sometimes Applications wouldn't expand across the entire screen, just giving you a small strip and a small keyboard. Which btw I use "SwiftKey" as my keyboard. I have trouble seeing sometimes and SwiftKey makes it very easy to type. Another thing I use is "Neon Glow" by Vertumus. There Apps and labels really stand out. To organize my Apps I use "AutoAppOrganizer". It'll keep your Apps organized and cleaned up. It also is customized so you can organize your Apps the way you want. So far every Application adjusts to the full screen. Being a Sports fan, for the NFL GamePass to operate the Android System had to be at least Oreo or higher. Unfortunately Samsung hasn't updated the View or the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Tablets so the NFL GamePass won't work. On the View 2, NFL GamePass plays perfectly. So far everything runs smoothly and efficiently on my View 2. I didn't use the original charging cord because it's rather short. I'm using a Type C but it has a light on the end so that I know it's charging. I was going to give my old View to my gf but in seeing how much easier the View 2 is, she wants me to sell my View on eBay and buy her a View 2, lol 😂. As for some of the complaints, you have to realize that the View and the View 2 aren't designed for alot of business. It can up to a certain extent, but not everything. These big tablets are for TV, movies and games. These aren't meant to be lugging around from place to place either. I'm a paralyzed disabled veteran and I drop things all the time to include my View. No sign of damage at all. As for screen protectors, the only thing I was ever able to find was those plastic film things. About the closest you'll find is maybe the Wet style for these. For cleaning the tablets and phones, I always use Worley's Wonder Jewelry & Glass Cleaner. As for accessories, of course there's not much, it's a fairly new tablet. The original View was the same way.

I just bought the Galaxy View 2 . I love it . I also have 2 of the 18 inch - older version. The Carrying case does fit. It is a stretch fit case. I have nothing bad to say about this device or carrying case. I have many uses for this device . I have a IPAd Pro and i never use it. For me the Galaxy View 2 fits my needs . The Galaxy View 2 makes it easier to carry around and also the the carrying case is a big plus.

I used the earlier version, Galaxy View 18.4", solely for displaying sheet music. The device sat permanently on top of the piano and could show two pages of sheet music at life size. Touch screen to swipe pages was perfect.

I found an older Windows tablet and installed a sheet music app and that works pretty well. My only complaint is my eyes are old and need a bigger screen... Just in portrait mode though.

It's great using it for nautical charts while sailing, those paper charts used to be huge (like 30") so a big screen is best

You're a little harsh on this tablet so maybe I can clarify some things about it. It's not meant ti be used as just a tablet but more meant to be used as a parable TV. For instance it doesn't screen mirror and the original 18.4 view from at&t came with a direct TV shortcut permanently in the notification tray and it was an app specifically made for the galaxy view. It also came with a stand that had a carry handle at the top of the stand. It also was only usable in the 2 position hance the TV sense behind it. Good Video though just a little less pessimism.

I've had mine 9 months now. Big Dolby sound, big on screen keyboard, big reading letters, quick handling and mounted next to the recliner. I'm liking it pretty much I guess. Like the man says, it's great for us old folks. Easy reading and easy manipulating keyboard. It's a nice little TV that acts like your standard smaller Samsung tablet. Problems, some Google apps and verison apps aren't supported. There are workaround apps for verison texting (mightytext works) I also needed a SD card to get onto verison, 10$ a month dedicated line. Other than that I'm liking it..

I bought the original view when it first came out drove 500 miles round trip to get it. I've installed a 250 gig micro SD card. I have over 200 movies downloaded on to the device from Amazon and i watch You tube and netflix It hasn't missed a beat. I think I have turned it off a couple times traveling. But it has been powered up and or in standby it's entire existence. Never had to do any reboots. It is heavy and mine has had some hard hits to the ground, but to be honest the tablet keeps on going. Glad you did a review on the second version, I was looking at it at Best Buy this evening good info thank you.

Lots of people commenting on this being a useless device but I've seen the original used for sales presentations and self-service in a hotel so I'm guessing that they are aimed more at commercial/business users rather than consumers. As a sales presentation device, it worked quite well.

I too have the 18" View and I love it. It has been my main tool use for training, reading, study, and also teaching for the past 4 years. I use it to edit photographs, do design work and play CHESS. I know it's not for all but Apps are a lot less expensive and some times FREE. Using the Samsung Galaxy 18" VIew to do work on cost about a tenth or less of what a program on a computer would cost. I just picked up an Electronics App on teaching Electronics that cost $2.99. The computer program that does almost the same thing Cost about $199.00 dollars. Why is THAT??? Can you please tell me??? It looks like I may be picking up one of the New View2 sometime in the near future, Thanks and have a great day.

I LOVE MY GALAXY VIEW 1! I use it to view KZbin, Netflix, ETC. I travel a lot and take it with me everywhere. It is my streaming device. I dont use TV anymore. I can take it to a BBQ, to the park, I can use it in the car, I CAN USE IT ANYWHERE!!! It is mainly for watching movies, tv shows, etc. I do use it for other things once in a while like emails. This is a great alternative to a TV in the bedroom. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I use it daily. i'm wathcing your video and typing this comment on the Galaxy view right now. LOL. I'M 40 YEARS OLD and i am on my second VIEW 1. This is for everyone, not just old or young. i think i have been using the View for over 5 years. If my View 1 ever dies i will upgrade to the View 2. And it is not overpriced. This is like a TV where you can watch everything and anything and you can take it anywhere. I'm not sure if you mentioned that you can also connect it via a SIM card. You can download movies and then take it on the airplane with you, or go camping. You cant do that with a TV. So this is definetly worth it in my opinion.

I keep thinking from all the reviews about the Galaxy View 1 and 2 that the reviewers always complain about these devices and say they're useless, they too big, what will you do with this etc... well all of them except Floss Carter! I actually have this tablet and like it for the most part. I've had it with Apple products from their cellphones to their tablets. My iPad Pro had to be replaced 3 or 4 times for technical problems and the 3 iPhones I've had in the past had problems too. There are some thing's with the Samsung Galaxy View 2 that can be improved but overall I really like it.

They really dropped the ball with the housing design. It should have been a flat tablet like their Galaxy Tab and removable folding tablet case with built in stand so it can be safely protected when not in use.

I bought the 1st Galaxy view instantly (I'm typing on it right now) the minute I saw it on sale $150 off. One morning my friend called saying his computer died so I went online to bestbuy to see what's on sale and saw this tablet I never knew existed. I told my friend I'd call him back and ordered it right away no checking reviews or specs. As soon as I saw it I instantly knew this is what I wanted. I started off in life with a regular laptop and then switched to a 10 inch Samsung Galaxy tablet because it's more convenient however the screen was too small so when I saw this it's like a computer size screen in a portable tablet. I still use a laptop but this is so convenient especiallyat 69. I'm afraid to use my computer without a sandbox and DeepFreeze technology on the internet but this has better security

I have 2 of the 18.4 view which I use for mixing bands connected to my digital mixing console, they are fantastic. I also use it for surfing the internet and watching movies all the time. The battery life is great. while they may not suit a lot of people for some they will be great...

Thank you so much for taking the leap of faith for us :) This isn't for everybody, but I do see a niche market and I'm glad wacky Android options like this exist. The price point is way too high though. I just want someone to make a $300-$500 15" Android Laptop with a trackpad. They used to (kind of) exist but now they don't. I don't want to use Android Apps on ChromeOS. My best options right now are the Tab S models....but they aren't quite laptops.

Learn a bit more before reviewing something. It absolutely supports HDMI I use mine on my TV all the time you just need an MHL adapter or u can buy the samsung HDMI multiport adapter but there are cheaper alternatives , I also play games on mine constantly like CSR 2, call of duty, Marvel future fight, champions, strike force, homerun clash and more. If I were you I would use the device for a while before reviewing it, you were completely wrong. Also a 4k screen on it would eat through battery like a dinosaur so why would u want that? DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS GUY. I love mine, yes it's big but there are options out there for cases and screen protectors if ur clumsy enough to need one. Anyone who opens a box on screen and uses something for the first time is in no way able to tell you anything useful about it.

I love my 18 inch Galaxy View! Ideal as a presentation tool in a small meeting. Or use it in an exhibition booth. Because you don't know where to use for it is a bad product??

Bought it for Exhibition booth and now my kids use it every day. It's a wireless smart TV you can take from room to room. I also take it for presentations for clients and my daughter hates when i take it.

I know you are not old and you look pretty knowledgeable about tech, but all those updates and apps installations are because you linked it to an account which has the app market app sync option activated. Also it's a bad way to test latency when the device is under such heavy load like updating all apps.

youre better off with a lenovo yogabook where you can use photoshop clipstudio or krita ... i dont think it even has a digitizer... i have the galaxybook 12" with wacom digitizer , smasung just dropped the device and installing newer drivers posed a real problem , also its cpu was configured in a way that it gets hot easily, changing it to a constant lower performance without heat was a real experiment and not easy (i think im the only one who got it in the end, didnt see any tutorial anywhere )... the digitizer is alright though, but itll be my lat ever samsung device

I just ordered a used v1 to try with a Soundcraft UI24R, which can be controlled over wifi/ethernet via any HTML device (up to 10 at once). If it works well I may eventually consider the v2 in addition.

@@TechnoLadz that's a really good question, 4k Blu Ray movies are 3840x1600, same as Sony 4k where was true ultrawide 4k content is 5120x2160, but no one really uses that much. I guess I will settle for a 4k movie tablet (the Sony 4k) 3840x1600 with complete HDR and Dolby vision support. These discussions would be lot simpler had they just called FHD as 1080p and 4k as 2160p but alas.
