Almost certain that the first sword is a 1610-20 swept-hilt rapier in the German style, absolutely beautiful... It likely won't be Dutch, as the swept hilt on Dutch rapiers would more often sweep down to the pommel, and the large, rounded pommel itself is pretty iconic for a German swept-hilt rapier. Absolutely unbelievable find guys, well done. Definitely take it to a museum asap, because if it is Dutch, it could be a very rare find.

America in sum states you can find civil war items, Metal detecting on land you can find kernal buttons to items like ol guns spearhead artifacts, you name it you will and can find items war men items that they dug underground for safe keeping. Archaeology professor here - when you find something like that, you need to get it into the environment it came from ASAP. The bashing of clumps of rust is potentially very destructive to things you can't see, too. Taking better care of your finds will be rewarding.

@@russellstewart5414 It depends on what you have Russel, 🙈 you can put most things in oil or diesel 👌🏼 or you can do electrolysis 🤗 I also often ask how to do it 🙈. the sword must receive special treatment, which is a very long process. 💯
