What is the reasoning behind the statement that Enos was the son of Jacop. Subsequent contributors were carefull to point out their relationship to the previous author - Enos gives no connection to Jacob. Nephi I and Nephi II were part of the "Small" plates of Nephi to which these authors were also a part. Your sequemce of translation by Joseph Smith seems a little off. Where did Enos learn about 'hunting beasts in the fields' - from his Lamanite friends who were known for hunting and eating wild beasts. Thanks for you efforts and insights

Jacob 7:27 "And I, **Jacob**, saw that I must soon go down to my grave; wherefore, I said unto my son **Enos**: Take these plates. And I told him the things which my brother **Nephi** had commanded me, and he promised obedience unto the commands (...)

Dear brother, Griffin, I have listened to your wonderful lessons many years now. And I appreciate all of the teaching that you give to all of us. I just listened to your comments and teachings about Enos and wondered about your comments, saying That God gives us trials. I had always understood that we automatically have trials on this earth, and God helps us in those trials, but doesn’t give them to us. Could you comment and let me know the correct belief of the church? please. Thank you for all your time and talents and bringing us the gospel each week. And it is so good to be able to go back and listen to these lessons anytime we’d like to. You are doing a great work! God bless you!

I just got through studying, just reading and thinking about each Prophet and how different each one is. Learning how to do whatever they each one has to do to take care of the people as he is told by Jesus and The Holy Ghost. Thank you for this video I had memories come from when I was younger and even child hood. Again, thank you for your insights and time. 13:59

Remission of sins is NOT the same as forgiveness of sins, and Enos was seeking the baptism of fire and the holy ghost, for that is how we receive the remission of sins. As a baptized member of the church, this is what all of us should be seeking each day, just like Enos. I am not sure why this is not taught any more in the church. Go back to Boyd K. Packer's excellent talk: "The Holy Ghost: What Every Member of the Church Should Know", Aug. 2006.There are also many, many scriptures that teach this properly...

I think we are all meant to see the Lord. To enter into his rest/presence. From the beginning to the end, the whole purpose of the Book of Mormon provides the instructions and examples of not only why that would be a good idea but how to do it. I believe the Enos account is included as an example of how we can seek the Lord. And it is a wrestle! In the process of that journey there is the baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost and like so many of the examples, they mention their sins were forgiven, he had been born again, the natural man subjected to the spiritual. He was "quickened". "Marvel not that everyone must be born again". His journey is our journey too. See 2 Nephi 31,32 about the Doctrine of Christ.

What I always trouble with: how can Enos be Jakobs son, when it’s 420 bc? Do you have an answer for me? Perhaps another Jakob then Nephis brother? Thank you for your wonderful classes 🙏🏼

I know a man who was born during the Great Depression (1930s). After raising his family his wife died. As an older man he remarried to a younger woman. Together they have a child who is now in kindergarten. Maybe Enos was born when Jacob was quite old, and then made his own record close to the end of his own life. It’s still a stretch based on the timespan we moderns expect people to live, though not inconceivable when you remember Moses was supposed to be 120 when he “died.”

So interesting, as in the Aligory of the Olive Trees and as we begin to see in Isaiah - the amount of focus people need to have to form deep roots.

There is nothing we can break that God can't fix. He has prepared a way. I think that was one of the major reasons we were able to cheer with joy when we were presented with the plan.
