This is exactly what happened with my ex fiancee a decade ago when she wasn't expecting me to be home early and I caught her and the dude in my bedroom. She tried her hardest to gaslight me into thinking I drove her to cheat and wanted me to give her another chance but I took back the ring and kicked her out that night. That was my red pill epiphany and will never forget that lesson because she ended up pumped/dumped with three kids and no man in sight. My advice to y'all is go monk mode and invest in yourselves because it cuts away all the drama and headache on your peace and your wallet and say no to that "hey stranger" trick.

My ex wanted a break. I told her if she wanted a break we were done for good. This is after 13 years, me dying clinically, a pandemic, her drug addiction, and moving her across the country with me because she talked such a good game about doing all the things I was passionate about before living in the hell hole known as Minnesota but couldn’t do because 1) zero mountains 2) no snowboarding (no their hills they have the audacity to call mountains do not count) 3) 6 months out of every year you’re stuck inside because it’s too cold to even go for a walk 4) I was so depressed half the year that I just couldn’t do it anymore. I should have left her there. She didn’t participate in anything then got jealous when other women did and liked me. I never cheated. I flirted my face off but who doesn’t? She worked at a diner and got hit on constantly, not to mention the creeps that got breakfast there every day just to flirt with her. I knew she had started fucking other guys when she told me she was done with physical affection. Not only sex but anything - hug; holding hands, kiss goodbye/good morning/goodnight. I told her then I was getting on dating apps and that I was going to sleep with the first option I had which happened about 9 days later. We were officially split but still living together until the end of that month when the lease was going to get renewed. I wanted her to leave back to Minnesota but she didn’t. I left her my old car, a fully furnished apartment down to the cutlery, and within a month she’d already been run through 6 guys until she found one that wanted to spend time not only inside her. Moved him in and was still texting me to ask if we were “done, done”. Dude she’s with now, who she gave my old car to (the one my dad got me before he died) and I get to see him drive around in it. Her mom even text me saying “I wish you guys would try to work it out. I don’t like the guys she’s hanging out with now. The one she’s most interested in (who is now her boyfriend) has been incarcerated many times for violent crimes including DV. So she really traded up…. I imagine she’s not happy but I’ve blocked her everywhere. She would have to find another phone number to text me from to get to me which isn’t impossible but I made it clear that there would be no forgiveness to even be civil or one day maybe friends because all BS aside, she knows me better than anyone else on Earth and vice versa. She saw what she thought was greener grass with a guy that probably hate fucked her like she wanted. I also found out from a mutual friend that her body count (she told me 20 when we first started dating which is about the same as mine) is actually closer to 65-75+. So that’s cool too. I’m an idiot in the sense that I hoped against hope something that couldn’t have worked would. “She’s for the streets!!”

If the woman couldn't figure out beforehand that the guy she was going to marry is abusive, that's on her. There are many very telling signs of abusers and people who will treat you like garbage; ignoring those and entering into a relationship anyway is a bad decision that you are consciously making. That's why you vett people before you marry them, that's why you don't latch on to people without thinking critically about how they behave. There are no excuses and women need to hold themselves accountable for the situations they put themselves into. It's harsh, but I'd argue that it's much better for everyone if men are legally protected from the predatory, shitty women that we have now than allowing for loopholes that those women will abuse as much as possible. (The same goes for men- don't enter into a relationship with a woman who treats you like an ATM or punching bag.) We are all responsible for our own safety and happiness, and giving only one side an easy-to-abuse out is incredibly unjust.

I think there should be both fault and no fault divorces in each state. if either party wants a no fault divorce, the leaving party should leave with nothing. Man or woman. Anything built together should remain with the party that isn't breaking the contract. The other gets nothing from the contract they are breaking. Fault divorces should be ruled heavily in the favor of the wronged spouse for everything. I dont know why it's so complicated
@peterpan4082 жыл бұрын
If you presume that the man is the main income earner and brought most of the wealth to the marriage, then yes. If the man and woman are of approximately equal income, and had equal assets entering the marriage, then 50/50 is fair. Kids do complicate things. Financially speaking, an equal pair sharing costs is better than trying to make it on your own. However usually only bonded partners can do this. Trying to do this with two unrelated straight men would be more difficult.

I don't know if I agree with this, but I remember explaining to my friends that as a man you are always paying for the woman, one way or another. Just because you get to say she's my girlfriend, wife, we've been together for x amount of time doesn't change the fact that you need to pay. In many instances, it's cheaper to pay for a professional. Of course at the time I was not 100% kidding, and it was just my response to then trying to convince me that I was missing out by not wanting a relationship and just messing around. As I've gotten older I realize, though crude, it's not that far from the truth. The reality is that all relationships are transactional, but everyone wants to assume their situation is special and different than the rest.

However in return he puts a roof over our head, makes sure we have electricity, internet, furniture, and he pays the largest share when we go on vacation. Other women like to really point out the half that concerns his duties in the household and claim he is lazy/does the "bare minimum" - not seeing that he works a lot and simultaneously handles all our finances etc. They really can´t look past their own limited perception.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Forgiveness is for you. You chose to let go of the hate and bitterness so it doesn’t drain you for the rest of your life. It doesn’t mean that everything goes back to the way it was before, and it doesn’t mean that the person in question gets to have access to your life anymore. In an infidelity situation forgiveness looks like this, “I don’t hate you. I wish you well. But we’re done and and there is no reason for us to speak ever again.” That’s how I see it at least.
@Aatell76410 ай бұрын
Yeah this is pure wisdom right here. I struggled with addiction for 11 years and a big part of dealing with addiction is dealing with your trauma and character defects. Learning to let go and "forgive" others transgressions is important for your own progress in life. It doesn't mean allowing the person back into your life, it means allowing yourself to move on from the past. I’ve been in this situation and married her. When a girl wants a break then has a list of demands to stay together, she’s only staying with you because you just gave her complete control of you. My second wife pulled this while engaged. I caved. Then while married she tried to get me to push my 7 year old son out of the picture. That crossed the line with me and I chose him over her. She ended up leaving me 11 months later while my parents were visiting. Super embarrassing and I was crushed. But… Leaving me was the best gift she could have gave me. So if a woman has a list of demands in order to keep her. Be a gentleman. Be confident. And tell her good luck with that and don’t look back. The longer you stick around the worse it will get.

This gentleman can't blame himself at all, all her and get annulment immediately, she will not respect you if you forgive, she will do it again if you don't end it now, it's tough but have pride in yourself brother, you are setting yourself up for her to decide she wants a divorce down the road, be glad it's 5 days after wedding, she lied and betrayed you.... This doesn't look bad on you at all, unless you don't break it off....

Someone in another comment said he deleted his initial post after deciding to stay with her. If true, the gentleman can certainly blame himself now for the inevitable outcome.

You are spot on about women and taking breaks from a relationship. Women who actually feel like they need time to advance their life, or complete school or whatever, they just break it off. They don't expect you to wait for them.

Be "forgiving" is not the same as being a fool. You can forgive people, AND you can do so at a GREAT distance from them.

When a girl friend told me she wanted to take a break, I agreed whole heartily with her and let her know I would be seeing other girls during the "break". Then if they changed their minds about the break, and did not want to take one, I would stress they would not have mentioned it if they had not needed it, so now it was needed by her and therefore was going to take place. Later if they wanted to resume the relationship I just told her I had found someone else. I do not put up with that schit. And nothing makes me madder than a guy that just sits around and whines and cries about how much he misses his girl friend/wife, etc. Those guys I tell them to grow up and grow themselves some balls along with self-esteem.

Asking for a "break" is the same thing as asking for an open relationshit. She's already screwing around. I love that you don't pull punches for dudes. We need to be called out on our shit, too. When you look at the world through rose tinted glasses the red flags just look like flags.

I was in college and I had a GF put our relationship on a break just before the weekend(on a Thursday). Unfortunately for her I had many girls that were waiting on the side line. One of them invited me to a party, we hooked up. Monday comes around and that GF is giving me excuses why she needed the break and asking if we can change a couple things and get back together. I agreed. Then she asked if I was with anyone over the weekend and I told her "yeah". She lost her shit. SHE ASKED FOR THE BREAK! lol Anyways I found out later that as it turns out there was a big party she went to at some fraternity across town at another Uni. So I think she went there to get stretched... didnt work out. And when she found out that it was ME who was getting action... she lost her crap. Anyway, she was crazy clingy after that. I hooked up with her for a couple weeks after, but then found out about her going to that party and some guy she liked being there. Used her for a bit more before telling her I need a break and just moved on.
