To everyone viewing in 2024: I took these principles to heart over one year ago and since then I have gotten the best natty gains of my life despite being intermediate and averaging under 10 sets/week per bodypart. I added plates to all of my compounds, my lagging bodyparts came up, I built muscle WHILE losing fat and staying the same bodyweight. There is some wiggle room as far as adding isolation movements goes but the core principles are what matters: Pick a movement(or movements), ''max'' them everyday in some rep range. (1, 1-2, 3-5, 4-6, 5+) Add reps or weight aggressively over time to force progression. Minimal daily volume, as high intensity as recovery allows. Rotate lifts when your body tells you to (plateau, local fatigue, discomfort, mental exhaustion etc) Make sure to sleep 7-10 hours/night Get enough food Rinse&Repeat until you have a reason to stop. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Erik. I wish I knew this 10+ years ago.

@@kevindon694 Its not a program, its a set of principles. You need to study this subject more. I recommend you start by reading about Bulgarian and Bulgarian light training. From there, you can re-watch Eric videos and then experiment yourself. @@vintersorg5501 My opinion on why this worked for you is because intensity is main driver of muscle growth for naturals. So you cut out junk volume and just had quality sets to feed your body. Which is usually what 99% of liters lack.

Sy Eckbe look at where you stuck at in the bench. If the bottom, try decline or pause bench. Have a back off set as well also you could change to floor presses. If it’s the lock out, try pin presses, board presses, ohp, push press or close grip. You could also switch to dips. You could also try accommodating resistance Choose 1 of those depending on your weakness and max it out. Then cycle back to benching. You could have he 1 rep max then have a lighter back off set

The only problem was, i didnt know anything passed that so i didnt know i was making minimal gains. It wasnt until i threw the programs out, focused each day on bench, deadlift, or squat, and some assistance exercises. Each exercise i was completely focused on because i wasnt focuses on the program, i was just focused on what i was doing in that moment. I have never been stronger than i am now. I'm still working hard on improving but in a year i was able to accomplish these lifts since following Erics advise. You actually can, efficiency can be trained by sleeping less and letting the body adapt. Look up ""Sleep Better By Sleeping Less?" on youtube by picturefit. When I first started lifting I basically did 100% fluff lol, thinking I was doing all the right shit because that's what people told me I was supposed to do. And at that point I had no idea what real strength was. Now I've already switched my training over to be more focused on the lifts that matter, and I still have to cut it down even more. Anyway, these kind of videos are what make this channel great. 100% cut through the noise. Pure focus = motivation and progress. I just have some questions/thoughts... I'm 15 (going on my junior year of High School), and I've been lifting seriously probably for a year now. When I was 14, I benched 100 for my max. About 2 months later, I was doing 3-5 sets of 10-15 with the same weight. I hit puberty probably around December/January, grew a lot, got a lot stronger, and got my bench up. In about a 3 week's time during my track season, I went from a 155 bench to a 185. I kept benching (bulgarian) to get that 30 lb boost, but started plateauing. I did bulgarian for my deadlift, and went up by 20 lbs in only 2 days, up to 275 and used everything in my body and all my drive to get it, but I was feeling sore in places I never even felt sore from deadlifting before (like even some in my chest from squeezing so hard). However, because I'm lagging in some places, I wanted to try AlphaDestiny's novice program. I was wondering your thoughts on this (if you know what it is) and if this will be a good foundation to build size/strength. Because before, I would lift everyday for a bit, then suddenly stop because of schoolwork overload (all Honors classes), then start lifting again after a week, and it would repeat. However, this is like my 5th day of his novice program, and it's really helping to build a foundation and prepare me mentally. My 5x5 overhead press has gone up 10 pounds in 2 sessions, as well as my squat, deadlift, and trap bar deadlift. It's really working for me, but I was just wondering if a program like this would be optimal for me since it's working, or if I should permanently do bulgarian like you said.

Amen. I'd forgotten. When I was 17 and again at 19 amd again at 22 I trained for black belt ranks. Didn't get fat until I quit that intense training. I was strong as hell for 175#. Fuck me, I forgot. I'll get back on it. Train mad, GOMAD. Thanks for the reminder. Oh, Juji sent me. Phase 1 of Bulgarian I did SSB (65lbs) back squat. Initial max was 165. Doing this for 18 days in a row I got it up to 205. I did go from 165 to 178lbs which helped but this gives you strength and muscle too! #thankyourickbugez

Wait so you do bulgarian split squats to improve your back squat? So 1-2 exercises isn't enough whyyy is Rick Boogs giving broscience? Jim Stoppani got me on this daily full-body workout and I've put like a decent amount of lean muscle mass. But now because of Rick Boogs I want to just do deads and squats now that I'm done with a 2x shortcut to size 10-week program and just finished the last day of a daily full-body grind for 5 weeks. Boogs gives me the advice I should just do 1-2 exercises and drink just coffee... What in the heck is going on? Does beta-alanine not work or something whyyy is Boogs so confusing? No preworkout just cinnamon milk garlic honey and 2 exercises gets you jacked and stacked?? edit: can't forget the CACAO I've added to my shakes

I love this way of working out. 1 exercise and maybe 1 or 2 accessories for injury prevention and what not

Conventional deadlifts are pretty taxing to do every day so would you recommend alternating between deadlifts and bench press to bring up both lifts. So you would be doing each lift every other day in the week

After deciding against milk 10 years ago I bought half a gallon of milk and it took me 5 days to finish. I just bought 1 gallon and I'm gonna a try to finish it. I'm gonna be making the switch to organic grass fed raw milk if I can finish it before it expires.

The second best advice I've heard from this guy is getting weights at home. Bench and rack. It sucks feeling pumped and by the time you get to the gym your tired. It's so much better to walk into your garage and start pumping. This video is the first best advice he has ever giving.
