I love the current Ensiferum with Petri on vocals, but when Jari left the band they lost their mastermind behind the epicness. Markus writes awesome stuff, but only the two first albums have the majestic feel to them.

If Jari stayed in Ensiferum we would still have Wintersun. He was writing songs for Wintersun at the same time as he was in Ensiferum, he had to leave because the recording dates interfered with Ensiferum concerts

DeATHMeTALSCooBYDoo Yep, but the thing is folk was never Jari's true passion. He said he always had to get in folk music mood when he wrote the songs for Ensiferum. But in Wintersun the songs flow into his mind by themselves, he says. It's his right place to be for him and he created the best band ever in my opinion. He has a unique own vision, creating another dimension of music and epicness.

i like both but petri perfect good in "victory songs" and "from afar" and jari sounds perfect in "ensiferum" and "iron" can't compare this albums there are different

I remember you that Jari recorded both Iron and Wintersun while on recovery of a tuberculosis where his lungs were at half of their capabilities and he still kicked ass. Now he kicks ass on every onstage performance on both harsh and clean vocals while Petri struggles on every show (he had to start using distortion on his voice because his voice is exhausted, we could all see it on Metaldays). It would be nice if Jari would come back, but holy shit Wintersun is the most amazing band I've ever heard, so I sort of wish he doesn't. I can't think of anyone better than Petri to take his place in Ensiferum though, but I can't listen to norther anymore :( Everything is broken.
