That keyboard intro to the first song is spooky as hell and the rest of the album is simply the work of great musical minds. I wished they carried on with this style of compostion in the following few albums, I wouldn't change anything on Frost though. Went to their concert in Salt Lake City yesterday. This guys were awesome. I shook Grutle's hand told him it was a great show, then walked outside to go to friends's car, found out that he locked his keys inside. My friend and I walked back and saw Arve and Herbrand smoking outside of their tour bus, we asked them for a wire coat hanger so that we could break in my friend's car. Herbrand ran inside to find one, then we came out and told us he couldn't find any. So we ended up just breaking a back window to get in the car. Fun night.

@Diego back in the day it used to be called *viking black metal* (a term introduced by Enslaved) and it was definitely part of the 2nd wave of black metal.

@Diego Christians used the concept of Satan to concentrate and condemn pagan ideals and black metal adopted that concept as a symbol of denial. Necromantia described that notion in their track *The Ancient Pride* Enslaved and other acts from that period didn't want to make an anti-Judaic statement. They just wanted to play good music with interesting lyrics. Laconic comments and CAPS can't rewrite history. This has been VIKING BLACK METAL according to the band itself, long before social media edgelords discovered it.

@@The-Endungeoned i believe enslaved drops the black entirely and just calls themselves extreme metal, even though i think it’s pretty silly since they are indistinguishable sonically from any other 2nd wave band, but their lyrica are different. i guess those kinds of things mattered more back in the day

Just saw them perform this album, only reinforced this masterpiece.
