Double Melon Hammers are traditionally a wielding weapon mostly used as a pair. These days and for this set the hammer part is hollow making it easier to perform forms and techniques. I can’t imagine what a solid iron hammer head would be like to train with. Heavy for starters.

I bet these would work great, used like Indian training clubs. Or, Japanese Chi ishi / stone mallets. Especially, if filled with something like concrete :) imo - quite a few Chinese weapons (as handed down to the modern world) were really more training/strengthening aids. Rather than weapons of war (which tended to be much lighter and more practical variations).
