I think im running OS 3.04 but also have beta OS 3.20. The only problem with mine is the sequencer lag. I did change out the Pad membrane assembly many years ago for a NOS one. Like you said the sampling, sound & effects is also why I love it. I use to sequence it with my mpc “JJOS” 2500 but will move on to just laptop & ASR & s950 soon.

If you have a problem with sequencer like others is because you don't time 4.04.04 correctly...I made seamless sequences after a while

I love this machine. My only grip is editing a sequence is a lil tuff. Removing notes.the button response and the buttons. Other then that its a beast. I want another one lol

Like the video on problem your just using it in standalone. The mpc software provides the quantize.. it's just an MPC.. at the time of release, it was just weird the way it looked compared to the MPC at that time

I’m just using a usb to din midi cable to send midi notes to and from the asr and the mpc beats software. Pick a track on the asr and set it to send midi only. Then in the software choose the same input as you’re sending out on the asr. Send the midi output in the software to whatever channel you have your sounds on in the asr. That’s it. I did some fancy stuff with the midi keyboard using it to mute and I mute tracks - don’t worry about all that

i see alot of complaints about the asr x not locking with DAWs but i wanna use my MPC Live 2 and run it thru the asr x. i keep hear about the sound of the ASR is great but everything else about it is trash. kind of like how people are running the mpcs thru sp404s.

Yes. You can use it as an effects processor. It has an incredible effects section. Also, you can use the MPC to sequence the samples in the ASRx and get the best f both worlds. Right now, I’m using my 2000 classic to sequence the ASRx.

perhaps you have 64 mb ram installed, so you get crashes and freezes. try setting up 32 mb ram as single SIMM module (or less memory), and maybe it will work fine (os 3.04)

Do you still service ASR X Pro’s? I have a unit that has a broken volume knob,broken Parameter and Value Knobs,broken Floppy Drive and loose Power Outlet,I can probably pass on the Floppy Drive because I want to upgrade it to a Floppy Emulator SD Drive.How much would you charge for this?

This is an answer to prayer. I just got my ASR X turbo back. Would you recommend doing the CF card drive install by yourself?

Yeah, there’s a kit that you can buy. It involves ribbon cables and connectors- not very hard to do at all. There’s some videos on how it’s done

Mpc software the best daw I’ve ever used , it perfect for my workflow. Most people don’t like and I’m like 🤯🤯 I own FL studio used ableton , reasons , logic ,ect and MPC 2 software is the best because it work like hardware and gives you a hardware sound . You can transpose each sequence and make your beat go higher and lower effortlessly.
