Ensoniq EPS Classic - How to set it up as a MIDI Controller & Sequencer

Nice tutorial. I have the EPS Classic with 4xMem Expander, SCSI Interface hooked up to a SCSI To SD Converter using a TF Card with 4 Drives. It loads very fast compared to the Floppy! The EPS works very hot and eventually you'll run up into trouble so I drilled holes just near the power supply and also above the rear heat-sink. Then I installed an outside blower fitted to the stand. The blower I took from a scrapped Konica photocopier. Now the power supply works cooler and the temperature inside the EPS remains good and with no trouble.

I’m having issues getting my eps to play out stereo .. when I plug the right channel I get sound , when I plug in the left I get sound but when I plug to both left and right I only get sound out of right side. I checked panning and I’m using single black ring on 1/4” side to rca cable to my mixer. Not sure what’s up ? Thanks

I've just started working again with my Ensoniq EPS and your tutorials have been a great help. Have you tried controlling your EPS via midi from a DAW? I've been trying to set up my EPS to play an external midi track sent from Logic and I'm having no luck so far. I have Logic playing a number of other external synths via individual external midi instrument Logic tracks but I can't get the EPS to do the same.

Noice! Quick question: I have an EPS. I just bought a Behringer Wasp. The wasp is a mono synth. Can I make the EPS play as a monophonic keyboard?

You can set the layer as monophonic. The wasp will always be mono, so you really don’t have to adjust any settings in the EPS to control it.

Can you record on 16 tracks or only 8 tracks if it has a 16 track sequencer because I only see people record on 8 tracks?
