This is a demonstration of how I lubricate all 4 of my 934 CVs in about 20 minutes during the dune season just to ensure they have plenty of grease all season long. Servicing CV's is a messy job and no one wants to do it. Follow these simple tips to save you time and keep you clean in the process. If you hear your CVs clicking and making noise, make sure you check them for proper lubrication. At the end of the season or at least once a year you should remove your CV's, Boots and Axles to thoroughly clean and inspect all components, then reassemble with fresh grease for the on coming season/year. Stay tuned for a video on end of season PM (preventative maintenance).

Glad It was helpful. If you had bolts that were loose I would check the run on torque. The threads may be worn and you may need new bolts.

You should always clean the old grease out before adding new grease. Don't forget to clean the inside of the boot. You're not gaining anything by mixing old and new grease. The 2 grease mix you're using should make a mound of grease higher than 2cm. is the right consistency for CV joints. The easiest thing to do is buy the CV grease. Trowel it in with a paint stirring stick, "after you've cleaned all the old grease out."

I would tend to agree with you on an annual servicing basis or you are a competitive racer. However, this is servicing the CVs throughout the season where you are not going to disassemble the axels and CV's to do a thorough cleaning, inspection and re-greasing. Based on your comment, I probably should have specified that in the video and thank you for the information on the 2 grease mix.

@@DougsX5 I've got a lot of respect for a guy like you that takes good care of his machines. Even if you didn't add grease it's good to look under the cv boot before the riding year starts and see what's going on.

@@topfuel29channel You are absolutely correct and that is why every year in the off season the 934Cvs, boots, and axels get removed from the rail. Then the stars, balls and race cages get disassembled, everything gets thoroughly cleaned and inspected, including the boots. Any worn parts or damaged boots get replaced, reassembled, reinstalled and lubed. Then during the season due to the travel and CV angle we run, I pull the boots and add grease because we dune a lot. I run 943 GNK race prepped CV's at a cost of $500.00 each. At that cost I would rather throw lubrication at them a couple times throughout the season then risk burning them up.

Seems like there is already plenty of grease in there. Just fully disassemble and clean and relube once a season and torque your bolts. You should have atleast checked your cv bolts for torque while the boots were pulled back. They can loosen up over time.
@DougsX5
@DougsX5 2 жыл бұрын
If your CV bolts loosen up overtime, that means they have lost their run on torque and should be replaced. Always check run on torque prior to reusing old bolts.
