In the japanese version it's not a magical device Piccolo is sealed in but instead just a normal rice cooker with a Ofuda stuck on top. Ofuda is a piece of paper you write sum kanji on and then place somewhere to keep evil and stuff away. Kinda like a fortune talisman thingy. This works as a magic seal in this show so the vessel doesn't really matter. The wise master picking a pink electronic rice cooker with a bunny pattern to seal away the king of evil is so perfectly dragon ball lol

There was a mistranslation in this episode but slightly insignificant when considering it's just one word with the se meaning but yeah it's still a mistranslation. In the paper with King Piccolo's crest Bulma said "it's the word devil circled" but within the circle you can clearly see the word "demon" as she hands over that paper 📄 to master Roshi to read 📖 express 😑. You can clearly see the English translation with the word Demon at 5:14.
