In recent my wife and I have "shed" more "friends" than ever before in our lives. I played it off as, "I was done with their "drama", but this comment has helped me realize that it's not their drama at all. It's that we are no longer on the same page in our lives at this very moment and we need to leave you behind now. We've grown apart. Drifted away from where we were as friends. We may still be friends persa, but no longer part of our circle. I always feel bad about cutting a friend out of my life because I know they still want to be friends and that makes it worse. My brother, who has high-functioning Autism, has always been very close to me, we had our ups and downs, he suffered from Aspergers, which is a rare case of autism (less than 200,000 US cases) he have major problems controlling his anger and just thought differently, he unfortunately took his own life. I don't want to go any deeper into the reasoning, it's just how hard it hit me and the rest of my family. Almost all of my life I’ve had a dog, her name was Tootsie Roll and she was a chocolate lab. I loved her so much and she helped me through a lot of hard times in my early years when my parents were going through a divorce. I spent so much time with her that I felt this bond that I’ve never felt with another person, not even my parents. We were always close to eachother. But years go by and she gets older, and we both knew that she would pass away soon. She would look at me in a way that I’ve never, ever seen her look at me before, a look of so many emotions that I can’t even explain. When it was her last day I made sure I stayed with her always, reminded her that I was still here, and that I’d never ever leave her. And I made sure that when she passed away that I was the last thing she saw and felt. That same day, as I was in my bed, about to fall asleep, I whispered “Goodnight Tootsie, see you in my dreams, I love you” and fell into a deep sleep that I’ve never had before. I still remember the dream I had, it was like I was experiencing the moments I shared with her all over again, like everything was back to normal. After all of that I finally started to dream and think freely, I was with tootsie, laying right next to her as she was laying next to me, both of us staring into each others eyes. It was the most peaceful, loving dream experience I’ve ever had, and I’ll never forget her. To this day I still see tootsie in my dreams time to time.

After using the Internet for most of my life, I have never found a section of people that are so caring and loving and just everything positive all in one place. Hey, this is a message, a message for the ones that feel lost, but don’t know that you’re found. That you’re looking for people to find you, or looking for what you need, but have yet to look in the mirror. Everything you need is inside of you, but it’s easy to forget that when all you see, and hear are the things around you. If you’ve noticed you can’t find your happiness in others, and that you’ve never managed to fit in the crowd then it’s because you aren’t apart of the crowd. You’re someone who walks through groups, but stays being yourself. You bring light, energy, love, and the people that may be around you don’t. I’m assuming if you’re here you have either found a way out, or are looking to learn how. Start within, do whatever you need to do to be alone. Literally walk outside, and follow the wind, follow your gut, trust yourself, and do it alone. You will find so many wonderful things, that you’ll wanna share, but don’t, at least not to those who don’t see your worth. You have been given the gift of being different, but that’s not the only thing that made you special, it’s the fact that you won’t stop being different, and that is much harder than you realize. Treating others with kindness is one thing, but being able to do it unconsciously is another. Be great, love yourself, and don’t forget who you are. Look for light, believe in whatever you believe in, and try your best. That’s all that matters. Is effort. Here’s a second part for you that may need extra guidance: when thing get hard that means you’re on the right track, you’ll want to stop it. Don’t, you’ll heal over time, on your own, just like a human body does. Pain is a significant teacher, it means your growing. It means weakness is leaving the body. You’re going through tough times, it’s hard, it’s tough, but you have to keep looking for the lesson to be learned or the pain will be for naught. Search for what you think you need to learn, think about it, and if you can’t find out the reason, follow the messages that’ll help you find it.

This is gonna be one of the most important weeks of my life. I was diagnosed with adhd and basically bombed out of highschool. Abused drugs and developed bad bad demons. I’m sober for 3 years now and I got the opportunity for an interview at a university to study psychology in 2 days. This could literally change my life. I’m so nervous scared excited but proud. Three years ago I never thought I’d be here Update: i got accepted. School starts in a month and I’m so excited thanks for all the warm words. It means the world to me ❤️

Thats the thing it’s just not the internet like for me my real life is more toxic than online and thats saying something because online I get told to kill myself but thats the thing I don’t know them so I don’t care about what they say. @@JustIcey22That sounds terrible, people can be very insensitive at times. Its like they don't care for other people's emotions. For me its a little different tho, it is rare when i receive hate, or meet people who are toxic towards me. What i struggle with is emptiness. It is hard for me to socialize, or to be close to people. Most of the conversations i have are with myself, with my own thoughts. I feel alone. However, i try to be positive, and to make myself happy, because thats all ive got in the end. Be strong, i know its easier said than done, but it will be worth it when you find that thing that makes your life make sense. Wish you the best, and dont lose hope!

Without going into too much detail, I had a period in life where I felt I had hit rock bottom-fallout with parents, loss of social circle, relationships, most/all symptoms of clinical depression. I felt hopeless, and I hated myself. I was stuck in that for what felt like eternity. Nights of total loneliness, teary-eyed, wondering what is the point. As time went on, I gradually realized I was stuck living in the past. I felt a sense of urgency to pick myself up and find inspiration, to remember who I was before the world beat me down, and who I can become if I had reclaimed agency. Then I enacted change. I worked on self care, improving my diet, lifestyle, mental health-everything I can think of. It took a long time, but I eventually realized how brutally abusive I was to myself. I took time to recognize and process my emotions and I became kind to myself. I changed the mentality from one that focuses on the past and makes me feel guilty/useless to one that looks forward, brings hope, and energizes me to become awesome. This was the turning point. I went back to school and took it seriously, got a 4.0 because I remembered my passion and applied it to everything I did. As I gained experiences and worked diligently, it all became a beast of a positive feedback loop. In the process, I also worked on mending broken relationships. I dropped my ego and talked things out, sought after understanding and empathy rather than holding grudges and desires for vengeance. This walk was-and is-no straight line. Life will continue to hit hard. I still slip up sometimes, but the biggest difference is how well I bounce back while avoiding the emotional pitfalls that throw me into a whirlwind. I’m now in medical school, excited to become a compassionate physician who will heal the broken world, one person at a time. I am passionate about people, knowledge, and I want change, but I’ve stopped looking around for it. I am determined to become it. I am at peace with myself, because looking back, I am so proud of how far I’ve come. It took years of learning about self love and compassion, and then extending them outward to those around me in healthy ways. I’m now privileged to live with joy every day. All that is to say: there is hope-that hope is you. Good luck, good humans. Edit: check out The Chimp Paradox. It’s a mind management book written by a psychiatrist. It was instrumental in helping me think about how I can have less internal conflicts and more productive thinking.

It almost feels like I'm sending a message in a bottle into a limitless ocean. I hope this message finds someone well. Listening this and reading the comment section has genuinely made me happy, and helped me reflect on life as a whole. As one commentator wrote, "The memory isn't real, only the moment". I feel like I've been living in an endless loop of uncertainty, clinging to the memories of my childhood -- the fleeting moments of profound happiness over the little things, the time spent with loved ones. I realize now, in it's beauty, life is a journey. Every second you spend on this floating rock we call home, in this time period in human civilization, should be cherished as you'll only experience life once -- truly just once.
