A house I used to live in had a beautiful garden adorned with oleander shrubs... the flowers are very beautiful and aromatic yet it is very deadly. I warned my girls about ever attempting to consume any part of that plant and they were very smart to understand the danger. They did play with the flowers a lot, but always washed their hands afterwards just in case.

Well it's not like it's just going to kill you when you look at it. You probably have to grind it up and consume quite a bit of it. Like is commonly known, cherry pits also contain cyanide, and yet you're absolutely fine when you swallow one. Why? The cyanide is inside, and it's only a small amount. Most of this video was comparable to "This is electricity, it can kill you". "This is a car, it can kill you". Did you know even water can kill you? And no, I don't mean by taking away your oxygen, just by drinking it. Just because something could potentially kill you, doesn't mean that it will kill you under any normal circumstances.

Here in the Pacific Northwest we have the yellow-spotted millipede. You see them everywhere. If you pick one up it will likely smell of amaretto (almond). That is actually the smell of the cyanide it excretes. It smells wonderful.

That’s not true. It depends on the toxicant (the term poison isn’t really used in toxicology as it leads to confusion). There are some plants that are pthosensibilisant plants for example. Hours after contact with them, when your skin is exposed to sun light you can get severe burns that could lead to tissue necrosis.

This vid deserves the 21 million views it has (Oct 2022) I live by a country park once owned by Aristocrats before it was given to the council after their bloodline was wiped out due to WW1 (yes their aristocratic sons volunteered) there are all sorts of poisonous plants there, Yew, foxglove, belladona. Most of the mushrooms are poisonous too, save the inkcaps which the rats and squirrels must nibble on because they always have bite marks on them. We as chiildren always thought of it as our 2nd back garden.
