The fight against the Resourceful Rat which was added in the AG&D update. The last phase is only for extra rewards.

I buy the key but i don't where to use, please can you tell what room/chamber you use the key to acess the Rat boss ?

The trapdoor to the maze is always in a random Black Powder Mine room. The room with the trapdoor has small rat critters which won't attack you. Then, look on the floor for the trapdoor (it's very well hidden). When you find a trapdoor outline, "dance" on it for a while (walk on it over and over again). Then, use a regular key to open the hatch. At the end of the underground railroad, use a blank. Dodge roll into the corridor, walk to the end of it, and use another blank. Use the Gnawed Key to open the large gate. Fall down the huge rectangular pit in the new floor. Then, follow the directions on the Infuriating Notes (the cheeses are arrows). If you forgot them you can always look in your Ammonomicon. They are randomized for each player so don't look them up. You know you're doing it correctly if you don't encounter any empty rooms. (EDIT: Very rarely, you can encounter empty rooms but still be on the right way. Simply continue to follow the cheese arrows in this case). If you fail to find your way in the maze an elevator to the Hollow will drop down, and you'll have done all that for nothing. Once you have gotten past all of the extremely dangerous rooms with probably half a heart remaining, gather your pickups and head for the boss room where you'll probably die instantly. I wish you good luck.

To get the Rat transformation you need all four items from his chests. Which means you either have to win the Punchout while finishing two phase of it with supers or you have to get lucky and have the chests be mimics (Lockpicks and Drill work too).

This boss is on a Lich difficulty level, and yet you fight it quite early on. I died on the second phase, and I need to thank you for allowing me to learn the patterns without panicking every picosecond.

It's really not too long before Lich unless you really try to get to it instead of killing the pasts, you'd probably unlock the gnawed key and Bullet Hell at close to the same time.

The fact that you have to fight him so early on probably makes this the hardest boss in the game. An easier method of dealing with this fight is using rainbow runs to get clone and then taking him your second playthrough. Ive beat every boss in the game but I have never beat him without using a rainbow run.

Actually got to the beholster today and managed to get him down to like 1/3rd. Still I tried to fix the elevator so I had no good guns and half health due to me trying to save up 3 keys and 120 money, until I looked up what's needed to give to Tailor next and stopped bothering. Still had only Magnum and M1 Garant for the fight. Also I managed to luck out once before and defeated Gorgun, so I guess she's the easiest for me even though I didn't repeated this victory yet (cause I go too far away from her and gaps in her scream patterns close on me)

A - Dodge left D - Dodge right W - Block S - Duck Left click - Left jab Right click - Right jab Space - Super And the big chests require the special keys you can get in the punchout. I only had one key.

Is this boss not on the switch version yet? I downloaded the update and i can see it worked. But i have not seen the gnawed key or the room with the tiny rats. I have one infuriating letter but that's it. Am i missing something?

Also how do i turn off the option that makes chest drops more frequent? I loved the old difficulty and having unlocked chests dropped almost every room in the first chamber almost makes it feel like cheating.

This how you get the boss fight: 1. Buy or steal the gnawed key 2. If you have bought the key then in chamber 3 in one of the rooms a trapdoor should appear use a regular key to open it 3. When you've gone down the trapdoor you have a minecart in a tunnel simply go to the end of the tunnel and use a blank (3 blanks required in total). 4. Keep going down the hallway until you see something thats looks like an elevator use the gnawed key to access it. 5. (Now it starts getting difficult) You are now in chamber ??? With no map what so ever you must make your way through a chamber harder than bullet hell with mini bosses everywhere but be careful each hallways or new room is a gamble because if you make one wrong decision you will be send back to the next chamber. 6. If you have made it to the boss door i wish you good luck!
