A relatively very long back and very short femurs, a body type very different from Pavel's. If you notice, because of his long femurs, he barely gets to parallel on his squats and has his back very forward. This may be why he prefers kettle bells to barbells.

I used to make fun of kettlebells calling them a gimmick, but when I got tendonitis on my shoulder a friend showed me some kettlebell drills, it got me sweating and the next day I was sore in all the right muscles and even muscles I never engaged before, my shoulder fully recovered and I was stronger than before my injury. Really a great tool for those who are trying to loose weight and protect the joints. And one 40lb kettlebell and a jump rope will get you farther than a huge treadmill.
@azmodanpc4 жыл бұрын
With this lockdown, I've been keeping in shape with kb, jumping rope and a 10kg mace. Got a sandbag too but it's overkill. Kb and jump rope is the best bang for your buck. No gym membership, no hassles, no excuses, just sweat, pain and results. Your forearms will cry, you will wonder why the toilet seat keeps getting closer and closer to the floor but the benefit in posture and walking alone are priceless. "Swinging an iron ball over your head is dangerous..." :) "Remember that quick feet, are happy feet." "If you don't have good judgment, why don't you stay on the machines, you big sissy..." I have this book and DVD, it really helps you learn good strict technique for kettlebells to avoid injury. Don't rush, be stable and balanced, etc. The Dragondoor kettlebells are nice also, the price has really gone up but they are high quality. I like how Pavel blends strength, mobility, flexibility into his training. As a former Spetnaz trainer and military guy, he embodies functional fitness that lasts you many years, even a regular habit for your whole life. He also has many catchy sayings, and I really dig his accent and demeanour. Also he will often say, "stay tight" and you can just feel that help your workouts. If you are not tight, and start doing kettlebell presses, your head, shoulder, back, etc. are gonna hurt. Also that turkish getup, you have to stay tight to avoid getting your head crushed by that bell. Classic training DVD, good stuff. PS: if you are new to kettlebell training, I recommend being barefoot. You have great traction, and it builds foot strength, proprioception, balance, etc, and you need a firm foundation. If you wear shoes, be sure they have firm and thin soles, not squishy running shoes. Such as shoes you'd wear for doing barbell squats, or wrestling shoes, etc.

Over the years, other trainers have made these moves more stylized and complex. I like the simplicity of Pavel's instructions, particularly for the Turkish get-up

Павел огромное спасибо , за видео, хоть и на английском языке, реально показаны техники, так как по книге не понятно правильная техника выполнения в частности: Турецкие подъемы.
@dinaprokofyeva4106 Жыл бұрын
Это не турецкий подъём, это просто подъём. Фишка в том, чтобы сохранить равновесие и положение руки и корпуса, а вставай и ложись -- как угодно.

It's so good to see Pavel doing kettlebell swings. Other instructors make it soo f@cking difficult, you cannot do it without mistakes. And even among instructors there is no consistency. Pavel established this sport around the world. According to other "pro"s: too deep squat, shoulders not in position. He is okay with that, so am I. Don't overthink, just do it.

@@bjornmattsson1529 Understood and I do agree that the comparison ain't the best one. But can we, as long as it fits our needs, ignore existence of independent state? Or how far to the history shoul'd we go? Is Finland still Russia? I'm Czech, so should I call myself German or Austrian? Belarus is simply Belarus and we shouldn't support ignorance just because it's comfy.
