Just imagine in the future (of the Stargate universe), having a network of two way Supergates (a two way gate would have the one side of a gate acting as a dialing gate and the other as a receiving allowing for both sides of a gate to facilitate one way travel in opposite directions) being held open permanently having traffic going from one side of the plant two another and to other planets and maybe even to other galaxies and having miniature Stargates coupled with Asgard teleporters transporting ships and people two places with less traffic or not permanently high traffic and tanker sized packets of goods and raw materials to factories and shopping malls. And you could also use permanently active miniature stargates for long range communication. All that with a completely overhauled Stargate network probably using numbers instead of symbols and maybe even Asgard / Nox dialing (it would be much safer and faster for miniature gates since you don't actually have to worry about having space on the other side). You would also, seeing as we are talking about intraplanetary travel as well as interplanetary have to start using a prefix for planets not only for galaxies and the system would probably require much more maintenance since you would have the gate take the address and then pull the destination from a database that needs constant updates and you would also have to include the type of gate and what types were allowed to connect to which and also the coordinates for the gates would have to be way more precise to actually have two gates working in close proximity and you should definitely add further security measures to make sure that the right gate was dialed and you might have to look into other materials two build such an extraordinary amount of gates with and wireless communication would become much more difficult two handle, you WLAN Signal interesting with a signal from an other planet...

@@VestedUTuber Also due to our knowledge of wormholes saying they are only one way and does not allow matter to go back the opposite way, so we can’t go both ways through a wormhole. And we don’t know the consequences of keeping an artificial wormhole open indefinitely
@VestedUTuber2 жыл бұрын
@@onyx6789 The one-way nature of a stargate is based around the fact that the wormhole it creates is actually really tiny and can't fit more than a few subatomic particles. As a result, the gate breaks down anything entering it and reassembles it at the other end, but if you have matter coming in from both directions it would just clog the whole thing up. Energy can pass through from both directions.
@onyx67892 жыл бұрын
@@VestedUTuber I know that’s why I was referring to the one way travel for that reason :) Also if the matter streams of the objects going through both ways hit 0.0 know knows what would happen.

It comes out at the other side. If both have an active connection I would say that the connection of the small one would probably be broken, it might also affect the big one, however what consequences destroying a connection in this fashion might have on it's surroundings I don't know.

personally i hope that it remained as there would be no considerable threat now that the ori have been neutralised so that we could stay in contact with tomin and the new post ori civilisations, but in reality i doubt that the IOA would seriously allow it to remain, a few mark xi gate busters would do the trick i'm sure [:

Mostly because if you cram some huge like a spaceship through a super gate, it can't come out a small gate. XD Unless the gates can "miniature" it, though I don't think people would like that as that would seem rather permanent, I don't think going the other way would make you big again... XD

@psychojoe72942 жыл бұрын
As far as I’m aware they did. I just finished a rewatch of SG-1 :) they only found out how to dial out after Daniel was a prior (assuming sams attempt at the beachhead would have failed). The ascended Ori probably didn’t see a big threat to an incoming wormhole either considering any incursion would just be poofed out of existence. Arrogance was maybe their downfall not foreseeing Merlin’s weapon.
@seriascannain66752 жыл бұрын
@@psychojoe7294 That actually makes sense. Merlin must also have found a way around the same fail safe procedure which resulted in Gerak's death!
