I thought this was shot from a drone or something and they put a filter over it! For a non-Hollywood film, the CGI is impressive!

I never felt so many emotions watching this.....sadness,, depression, anxiety, intrigue. I don't believe in heaven or hell, if anything I believe in this, energy that travels, totally unaware of it, reincarnation.

i get you. i feel similar. like the living never die. they just keep on living from one experience to the next. but heaven and hell....i believe that is in the mind. you reincarnate into paradise....and your mind changes it to feel like blissful heaven...or painful hell. and we put ourselves there.

When I first saw this scene, end of the movie, I felt a strange overwhelming lurching in my gut - he's going to end up born again as a baby in a new life, in the climax between the couple on the bed. It was very intense, and by the end, when the words 'THE VOID' flashed on the screen, I was left feeling like I could cry, wordless, for 10 minutes. It's a very impactful movie if you allow yourself to be immersed.

The main character isn't being reborn or reincarnated. Gaspar Noe has explained the ending as the character recalling the most traumatic experience of his life: being born.

Nah fr I was deep in it off shrooms I thought I was watching my life, I felt as if the sister in the movie was my actual sister in real life and this is how we have grown up, as some junkies from my influence. After my high was coming down I was like “yo this is a movie don’t believe any of this is happening to u” the movie made me want to be better and to strive to be great rather than letting the flesh be satisfied with everything that I’m being shown. The traumatic scenes scared tf outta me on shrooms tho that shi fuckin sucked😭 but everything else just made me want to make movies as trippy as this. On my second watch I watched it with my Hb and we jus kept repeating “how tf did they make this😭” Wish there was som behind the scenes on the process

I can't put into words how much I loved this movie, but I'll try. The film is ridiculous, repetitive, overlong, excessive and full of unintentional humor. Sounds sh*t, right? Wrong! The very idea behind the movie, and the way that idea is realised onscreen, is so original and wonderful that I can't help but adore it. Utterly unique. And as others have said, the entire first-person death scene is unbearably intense and powerful. One of the most devastating screen deaths in the history of cinema.

@LSDlucid actually the sex scenes are based on the Tibetan book of the Dead. It references the point where the soul is ready to be reborn and will see a lot of people having sex around it and must choose the parents. the special effects are even more intense because oscar's brain is finally beginning to shut down so things are starting to become disoriented and crazy sucks that you didn't like the movie though. i loved it

@Yotes4Life Well, not so quick now. We DO know a key few things for sure. Everything is fleeting & impermanent. Nothing exists or arises without something preceding it. And who we may initially think to be ourselves, the person we see in the mirror, is ultimately illusory. There is no unchanging self. Only a stream of consciousness. When we die. It's only the vessel carrying the consciousness that dies. That luminosity carries on to another vessel unless it is unattached.

8 years later....i would like to add to this. the universe is dualistic in nature...everything that comes into existence....has an opposite but equal twin. light dark...hot cold....life death...male female....yin yang...in out...north south of every magnet. christ antichrist. every one....is two. ..and every two is one. they require each other to keep reality in motion. the heart beat...the tick tock...breath in and breath out. everything is two actions repeating infinitely. like the ouroboros. the head and the tail join...and tail feeds the head eats....dualism is a law of the universe.

@Yotes4Life Plus, take into account the thousands of children who, at an age & in a setting that could not have possibly suggested anything to them, recall the lives of someone completely different with uncanny detail. You should read up on Ian Stevenson's reincarnation research. Mostly studying how children's inexplicable scars match the fatal wounds of those deceased shortly before the children's deaths. I think you'll find it very interesting.
