South Indians were super good at Architecture and Maths. One of the other famous temples, the Brihadeeshwarar Temple in Thanjavur, is a brilliant example. The shadow of the main temple never falls on the Earth's surface, no matter what time of the day it is, and the Sun's relative position. This showcases the genius of the mathematicians who were involved in the construction of the temple, around 1010 CE. Great video.

+Aparna Krishnan All Indians were good at maths and architecture.How can you forget the taj mahal?And the massive forts of Rajasthan?The second largest wall in the world after Great wall is in India in Rajasthan.Also dont forget Jantar Mantar in Jaipur is the most advanced sundial in India built in past and and konark suntemple is the only temple in India to have both sun and moon dials.Please dont divide India on north and south basis.I see a lot of south Indians saying that northies are racist but on the other hand I also see a lot of people like you who try to prove dominance of south over north in every field.I dont think I have ever seen a north Indian write a comment like this in which he says that north Indians were this and north Indians were that...You know our ancestors werent retards.Also dont forget that 2 of the oldest unversities in the world i.e Taxilla and Nalanda where students used to come from china,iran,korea etc were both in historically North India.I think you got my point.
@aparna27017 жыл бұрын
Siddhant Kumar Not once in my comment did I mention that North Indians weren't mathematical geniuses. This temple is located in South India. Hence, I mentioned the prowess of South Indians. In no way does that discredit the genius of North Indians. Stop trying to form divisions where there aren't any.

people with belief or disbelief.... no matter, my question is, what have influenced those people to build such detailed temple? I mean look at whole India and see thousands of temples... it wasn't built up only because some people had architectural desires, something divine, alien, magical stroke the heart of those people for compelling such piece of gigantic work.
@davidb52058 жыл бұрын
Some of the most beautiful works of art and architecture in the world are motivated by the divine: Hagia Sophia, Teotihuacan, Angkor Wat, Michelangelo's fresco in the Sistine Chapel, the Kaaba in Mecca, Mont Saint-Michel, St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow. When you are trying to impress and honor the gods/God, you better bring your A game.

Now answer me if u r not non believer of God In my county mother India , in very old temples u can see nine planets sculpture in southern side of the temple They found it way before spaceship and rockets where invented it's because those yogis used their spiritual power to visualize outside th earth .
@greenalien55098 жыл бұрын
But there aren't nine planets. Sounds like that must have been sculpted not much more than a 100 years ago. Because if these yogis really saw visions of our planets then they must have saw Ceres, Eris, Makemake and and all the other dwarf planets. And if they could see this then why could they or even the Indian astronomers not see that the earth revolved around the sun? Some civilizations did map some of the planets over a thousand years ago; particularly Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. But most likely these carvings you describe have nothing to do with planets at all and if they do they were carved much more recently.
@ZaneT5318 жыл бұрын
Green Alien They have not just carved dude they have named them long before. yogis are not god . they are more of like super humans . Not 100 years for sure coz come to my city madurai - city of temples . you will be astonished its all date long before Christ.

Temple existed as monumental structure at least since 1500-1400 Aditya-I, Killivalavan era of Chera, Chola, Pandyas . Correct your facts only few main gopuras and walls were constantly broken and reconstructed due to invasions during last 700 years be prescise with facts.

Please look up Indian temple architecture if you want to know more. Each state has magnificent and exquisite temples that are a sight to behold (most are monochromatic though. But the beautiful architecture on stone more than suffices for the monochrome). The south has a different style of temple architecture, Odisha has another, Bengal has yet another, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are a group while Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh form another group (they're all slightly different from each other even if they share different elements). The cave architecture of Maharashtra is beautiful too. And there are a lot of modern grand temples too. Apart from Hindu and Jain temples, you will find a large number of exquisite mosques and tombs, Sikh Gurudwaras and Buddhist monasteries (they are present mostly in the Himalayas). And there are numerous ancient masterpieces of Buddhist and Jain architecture that are no longer used but are still majestic (mostly cave architecture along with two of the three ancient universities of India; the third one is in Pakistan). And then there are palaces, forts and colonial architecture too. Also there are 7000 years old sites of Indus valley civilization. India is a paradise of architectural wonders. It's almost impossible to see all the architectural marvels of India ranging from 5000 BC till the present

There are much older temples in South India, some are 1400 still used as temples. You're insulting Indian temples by only calling them 700 years old.
