An additional benefit to the methods you show is that they don't require as much upper body strength and strain on the shoulders as some commonly shown techniques.

Is there a paddle-friendly method to get in and out of a lightweight composite kayak with a short coaming? Like a wildwater racing boat, whose cockpit is way shorter than most people's thigh bones, but the deck can't carry the weight of an adult.

That straddle method is more difficult on the wider kayaks.

Straddle is meant for touring boats, which are narrower, not recreational or fishing yaks.

This is a great vid but I wish someone would show how to get in and out of an inflatable boat rather always a hard side boat. Inflatables are trickier due to their buoyancy.
