It always amazes me to see how a serviceable building can be just left to get into such a state. .

It is rare to be among the first few explorers to enter a building. The more people who access a building, the more damage it suffers. That is why locals often monitor a site until someone creates an opening for them. But this is not always feasible and most of the time you end up being the 20th group or more to visit. You also have to consider that the building has been neglected for a long time. Simple things like lack of heating in the winter cause moisture to accumulate in the building. Then roof leaks start to appear and the building begins to crumble. Copper theft is another problem that often leads to water pipes being left open and spraying water everywhere. Ceilings, walls and floors are also ripped apart to get to the pipes and cables. Local kids may use it as a hangout for a while and then vandalize it when they get bored. There are also some idiots in the urbex community who go to places, take photos and videos and then deliberately destroy things so that the next explorers cannot enjoy the building in its original state. It is like a competition for content. And don’t get me started on fires. I don’t know why but many abandoned buildings are set on fire. Often they are the listed ones that have been owned by a landlord for years and years. Maybe it is related to insurance fraud or an attempt to demolish the building. It is easier to sell an empty plot of land to developers than one with a listed building that has many rules and regulations on what can and cannot be done and how it should be done.

Could see this derelict building converted into new flats or to be demolished and replaced by new flats.

YOU DIDN'T LOOK IN THE LIFT. Looks like a modded express. The mirror door is interesting. This is sad, because there's so much history in places like this. What I find fascinating about abandoned places is the history. Every day, people used to go to work, and do stuff. Now history is just disappearing - as if it never happened.

@@BefaceComputing Dropkey? If so, fair enough, however the triangle key is required to be carried at all times.
