They don't want people just walking into the theater after the lights go down, both because its unfair to distract attention from the feature, and because trying to navigate the more cumbersome outfit and footwear combinations to their seat in the dark can be a safety hazard. Cannes isn't trying to get sued cause a star broke their ankle or accidentally dragged a piece of frabric supported by metal wires and myriad pins across someone's eyeballs etc. They can't really postpone anything last minute as there are hundreds of people on a very tight schedule to be there. So if things get messed up (most often due to celebrities bring late, but ocassionally it is the staffs fault) the time is cut out of the red carpet. At the end of the day Cannes is about the films not the outfits, I get being annoyed you didn't get to show off the cool new dress as much as you want but hey thats life sometimes. I find it a little ridiculous to be like "they weren't treating other people the same, must be racist.", When she's the one at the top of the stairs they are waiting for to move other people up.

She shows up acting like a damn diva like always. Late and thinking everyone can wait while she has her photo-op. When they tried to rush her through she got pissed. So entitled! Then blames racism! @lilij1915 there are tons of videos showing her enter the seating area and everyone is already seated and waiting. She storms in mad after they escort her up the stairs. They had a schedule of how they planned people to come in. The cast of the movie that was being premiered was supposed to be last. They were already seated when she arrived.

The incident on the today show has nothing to do with the bullying and disrespect that Kelly was subjected to on the red carpet at Cannes, so bringing it up here is wrong. However, if ET is going to talk about a past event, then be fair about it: tell both sides of the story, not just one, so that your narrative will be impartial. But ET has chosen to report only the today show's version, which makes them look like victims and omit Kelly's. That's totally unfair, since it creates the impression that Kelly is the aggressor. And perhaps that's the objective: to glorify the today show staff and slander poor Kelly. Very bad! Thankfully, ET is not the only source of news, there are other channels on social media that do more balanced reporting by allowing all parties in a dispute to be heard. Kelly's side of the story was told by one such channel. The story sounds something like the following: Prior to Kelly's arrival, there was an agreement between her and the today show that the interview would focus only on her new movie, which she was there to promote. There would be no discussion or questions about her former group members. But what happened upon Kelly's arrival? Well, contrary to the terms of the agreement, the interviewer immediately started to bombard Kelly with questions about the latest project of one of her former group members, and completely ignored Kelly's own movie! Did ET notice how disrespectful, disdainful and hurtful that act was?! Kelly did not deserve any of it. She needed to stop it to maintain her sanity. And leaving the show was the right way to set that boundary. I applaud her. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
