Zendaya’s an example of why a healthy household is so important. She’s confident and liked by so many because she knows how to talk to people. Her parents gave her a safe space to grow and pushed her to be her best self. Such a shame not everyone has that opportunity and most people are not understanding of others.

Yes, she is so grounded and has such a cool personality. I appreciated your comment because not everyone has that opportunity to grow up that well balanced and well adjusted and you are right we are so judgemental and unforgiving of one another. It's like they say, if you only walked a day in my shoes. If we really tried to do that for people we would all be so much kinder to each other.

The way her mom looks at her in such a proud way, letting her shine. Some parents would jump in and finish a story or talk over their child. She is so blessed to have such amazing parents. I try to do my best to raise my son to speak his mind and know it is good to have an opinion. Zendaya's communication skills are off the charts!

Mom’s sacrifice to work a second job so her kid can go to Disney turned into a window of opportunity for Zendaya to see what sparked her interest. Mom figured out how to make it happen by bartering her service for tuition to allow Zendaya to hone her craft! Dad sacrificed to support his daughter’s talent and ambition. Some of us with unhealthy parents know we just couldn’t do this no matter how famous we were hypothetically. I don’t have many examples of heathy parent-child relationships so I’m watching this and very interested. There is so much pain and toxicity surrounding my relationship with my parents and secrets - it’s nice to just see people who actually love eachother as family members and look at eachother with love in their eyes haha. @@nfbconnect I hear you ❤️ I think the fact that you can resonate from a heartfelt place with the mother & daughter connection means that your life isn’t stolen because you still have access to your heart. Even though I can pretty much say the same regarding what my parents have done - I think they let the things they went through make them cold and hateful and terrifying in all honesty. They tried with all of their might to break me down and I could’ve easily become a terrible person but I still care about this world and those in it such as yourself. So remember that because you are still breathing and you still have a heart can find empathy and compassion, there is so much left of life for you. Aloha sister or brother

This is such a creative way to begin an interview, with food! it's relaxing and it provides a very authentic expression of ease. I think more interviews should be done by breaking bread with everyone including the host. Zendaya isn’t Black, she’s half white and half Black (biracial woman) so it’s a bit odd to say Black women who clearly don’t look like her are being inspired by her when there are amazing unambiguous young Black women like Keke Palmer, Lupita etc to look up to. Black women just don’t have similar experiences to her as the world receives them differently

@@thandisilec835 it’s difficult because in america with the one drop rule especially, black includes biracial people. Society categorises more by race than ethnicity, which I think can be confusing and unhelpful

A good kitchen can inspire you to want to create. I'm not gonna lie. My mom and I got our first tattoos together. I was 20 and my mom was 45. We felt so bad ass, I told my mom let's go to a bar and drink out of a dirty glass"! My mom was like and what will you be drinking at THIS BAR? I told her "It doesn't matter! We're rebels, I don't need ID"! Mind you I'm 20, but I looked 15. I love Zendaya. She is everything. She is a phenomenal Actor.

Only 5’10. 🤣 I’m disabled and I was bullied when I was in middle school. I began to gaslight myself thinking I wasn’t being bullied, that it was my health deteriorating. It wasn’t until now in my 30’s that a former classmate apologized for not doing anything when I was being bullied, so I knew that was coming when she said ‘I didn’t do anything’ and her parents said ‘that’s the point’.

Zendaya has always reminded me of Beyoncé in so many ways - always carrying herself with such class. Then to see how down to earth, humble and identifiable her upbringing was, right down to how nervous they are being interviewed by Tina, it made me love this interview even more. Three beautiful, hardworking women ❤️

Zendaya's mother is from the era of old school teachers who didn't play about you or your learning, she educated in one of the most diverse but hard core area like Fruitvale that you can see how she was proud that her daughter paid attentiom to her being her best at what she was called to do and beared fruit in her labor. Beautiful
