It was either Seth Rogan or Jason Sehel, but one of them said in an interview that young Judd Apatow was so pissed off at the cancellation that he made it a personal mission to make stars out of the cast so he could rub it in the faces of the NBC execs.

@mkotack that's why he put them in his movies but the thing is they were getting too old for high school the freaks so I wonder what their storyline would have been to carry on.

He is not aging FAST...he AGES, so what...he is a human being. All our big stars from the 70ies, 80ies are old now. Yes, it makes me kind of melancholic, too - but that´s the way life goes.
