Age really IS more than just a number. And cultural differences matter a lot, too. We adopted a 2 1/2 year old from the Philippines (husband Filipino American) from his friend. The friend knew we wanted to adopt and offered her to us. My husband went back and finished the adoption. I got there two weeks later and her mother had come and taken her back. A week after, her mother came crying and begging us to take her back. We did, but the little girl sat by the window for two weeks waiting for her mom to come back. It was heartbreaking. In the end, things worked out and we are so proud to call her our daughter! She is almost 21 now, in college and doing well. Anyway, when a child is already a toddler, it is very traumatic for them to be taken away from their parents. Little Mahadi would have a very hard time if they went through with this, as would his parents.

Kim doesn’t seem to understand that she and Usman are coming at this relationship from two completely different cultures with two completely different expectations. Usman’s culture expects submission, and whether Kim realizes it or not she has been submissive. She starts out saying “No No No, I know my worth!” But Usman knows that if he waits her out and wears her down he will get what he wants. She WOULD HAVE been his second wife if he told her she had to. And I have a feeling that if push comes to shove Kim WILL convert to Islam if Usman says “If YOU want me to marry YOU this is what YOU have to do”. Kim says she has self worth but if Usman doesn’t see her worth and she doesn’t stand up for herself then she might as well lie down at his front door and let him wipe his feet on her.

I had to learn the hard way! Once he gets here he will be able to trample all over her as long as he's not committing a crime. Theres been many red flags with Usman and Kim is looking past them which is not good because once he get on U.S soil it will get worse and she will feel like she is submitting to trash and her freedom has been taken away believe me she will take her freedom back and he will turn against her to stay in U.S by looking for ways to get around being with her. Kids with parents like these often raise themselves and look at their parents as examples if what not to do. It's not the fact that she "raised him well". He raised himself parents don't deserve all the credit.

Im sorry but I feel like Jenny is selfish and quite delusional. That relationship is never going to work. They have too big of an age gap. Jenny wants a person that is retired and wants to releax in their older days. Meanwhile Sumit is in her prime, still working, still hanging around his friends, having fun, exploring life. And even might want to have kids someday. She is surrprised that he changed his mind about having kids? They met when he was in his early 20s? His brain wasnt even fully developed, ofcourse he can change his mind.

Usman is making promises he might not be able to keep. He’s never been to America and he doesn’t know how difficult it is to live and work here. He’s telling his brother that he’ll provide his nephew with the best education and that he’ll want for nothing. What skills does he have aside from singing, because those promises require big money. The entire situation is just terrible.

THIS is what narcisism looks like. No regard for anyone but himself. Not Kim, but also not his brother and not even a child that happens to be his own nephew. The trauma the child will endure by having to leave his parents and his home to fullfill the selfish needs of Usman and his gf. It probably never crossed Usmans mind what the effects of adopting any child are. And for what? For a freaking greencard and some stupid music career.

People like that scare me…they are the ones that will sit by & watch someone get hurt & say but I didn’t do it, so I shouldn’t be blamed…No way! She’s older & she should know better! Doing all this bullshit jst so she can have a younger black guy! She is 100% jst as bad as Usman….have u ever seen the show “For my man”…where a woman will do the unthinkable just 4 the guy in her life, no matter how horrible it is

@@jeanakatherine9369 No one is absolving Kim, it is a comment about Usman. Kim is desperate for love and blinded, i actually feel sorry for her. Being desperate sadly makes you lose all senses. Kim looks to me like a nice lady who has raised a wonderful son in Jamal who is a credit to her. Her desperation has made her lose focus on reality and she now vulnerable to exploitation. Usman is an extremely manipulative man.

@@tamaranyasha1830 I don’t feel sorry for a grown woman who chooses to follow a man who’s clearly scamming her…it’s not like she doesn’t hv people around her trying to help her make better decisions…for crying out loud…she won’t listen to anyone else’s advice & now she’s willing to be involved in taking a perfectly good child away from his family solely to please a man! Where does it end then? What if Usman wanted her to commit crimes? She’d go along with it…& then what..she’s willing to hurt other people just for the benefit of having this man…that is not someone to feel sorry for

I believe deep down inside Kimberly knows exactly what happens here, but she seems to be the type of person who gets defensive when someone pointing out their fault. The more other people tell her that she's wrong, and telling her what to do, the more she reject the idea. Sadly ,she needs to snap out of it herself.

As a man, an African and also a Nigerian man. My suggestion to Kimberly would be ....RUN!!! Usman might love you, but it's only for one reason. Express ticket to America, not that he can't afford to come to America. He obviously comes from a rich family. Would Usman be willing to still be married to Kim, even when he becomes a US citizen? The answer is a BIG NO. He wouldn't even think of it. I believe his next move would be to convince Kim, so he can take up a new young wife that stays in Nigeria. For the sole purpose of having kids for his mother. You guys haven't seen anything but my brother. I love him and I wish him all the best.

Userman confessed on his IG in the past 2 weeks that this is nothing more than a business arrangement with Kim, Sharp Entertainment and TLC. They edit the footage and create the story, so Kim looks good and he looks like the bad guy. When people called him out on it, he edited the caption on the IG post to take out the business arrangement language. Stop giving energy to these two as if she's being taken advantage of by him and/or he's being taken advantage of by her. Kim isn't being used. She's with Userman to be on tv and get money. He's on tv to boost his "music career" and notoriety. His family is in on it as well. It's an entire racket to get ratings and public engagement. There's not one iota of truth to their entire time on the show.

Child protective Services needs to intervene with this segment, DO NOT USE CHILDREN IN THAT MANNER FOR STUPID PLAN! Do not involve children in your plan, and TLC why do you allow this segment? If that baby was an American baby could you do this segment?

It’s not unusual for parents in developing countries to send their kids to live with relatives who live in developed countries. He over it’s my understanding that this happens when the child is a teenager not a toddler. It also doesn’t change that fact that the bio parents are the child’s parents. The adoption is just a piece a paper. A western education is more universally accepted than a non western education. That’s why so many immigrants have to start over from scratch when they come here despite having earned degrees and work experience in their home country
