Greyson Chance is slamming Ellen DeGeneres in a new interview with 'Rolling Stone.’ The musician details his once close relationship with the former host and their fallout. Greyson's relationship with Ellen started over a decade ago after he went viral when he performed Lady Gaga's 'Paparazzi' in 2010 as a 12-year-old. Within a week, he traveled to L.A. to appear on the show. But as Greyson recalled his time with her, he referred to Ellen as 'domineering’ and ‘controlling.' The 25-year-old also called her an 'insanely manipulative person.'

Seeing a lot of people kind of brush this off as "oh yeah that's entertainment business and Hollywood." Try to imagine yourself as a 12 year old, creating an incredible foundational relationship with an icon, going through so many adult processes when you're 12, still figuring out who you are as a person let alone an artist, then getting dropped and that role model, the person who said they would be there for you and you'd do it together, won't even pick up the phone. None of this is about a flopped album, it's about being a decent human being. I've worked with Greyson a couple times, not having known him before, and he is an incredibly down-to-earth, talented and above all HUMBLE person. He'd eat lunch with the crew and shoot the shit every single day. I believe everything Greyson says, and the only thing to learn from this is that growing up is a pain in the ass already, to have someone who you counted on shut you out is adding insult to injury. I'm glad Greyson persevered because Palladium is a gem.

What kind of "decent human being" uses someone's platform to get exposure, then talks shit about them after? Per Greyson, he failed because he refused to listen to Ellen's guidance. And per Greyson, Ellen still gave him a platform, even after they stopped working together So even though he was a brat and didnt listen to her, she was still being a decent human being and providing him exposure. And even though he hated her, he still went on her show to promote himself. Talk about being ungrateful

@@nobleone89 if someone is going to make public accusations, they should be specific not just make these general vague claims over and over. He is the one left looking bad to attack a likeable figure when all he has to say is that he felt abandoned that she dropped him and that she allegedly "berated" his mom for not doing something she asked them to do after signing them. And it is ridiculous for him to go on her show to be interviewed e.g. about coming out, and then say why would she do that and pretend we were on good terms when behind the scenes we weren't? It's a SHOW. Why did HE do it in the first place, then turn around and act like the victim. Celebs and people in general can be difficult, especially if you're trying to make it in Hollywood, that doesn't make it ok for people to just attack them like this especially without backing it up. Life is hard, people are hard, and this generation is full of entitled whiners who do not grasp this reality and are upset that people and life are not more perfecg and easy

I think Greyson has potential. Unfortunately, success in the entertainment industry is incredibly rare and never guaranteed. He needs to accept that his career flopped, just like countless other artists. All I got from his Rolling Stone interview is that Ellen DID in fact work around the clock to try and make him a star. She owed him nothing and yet she still worked hard in hopes of making him successful. Many artists have signed with agents, managers, and labels who often shelve their artists and don't even give them the time of day. At least Ellen tried.

As far as ellen goes people can say whatever they want about her and have the right to feel the way they do but despite it all she has done alot of good over the last decade or two and I think just because she's made some mistakes shouldn't destroy all the positive things she's done for others.

This honestly sounds like a non-story. I'm no fan of Ellen, I find her annoying, but what she did is no more manipulative than any Hollywood agent or manager. In entertainment you're hot one minute and forgotten the next. Everyone wants to be involved in your success when you're on the up and will divert their attention and energy elsewhere when your star is on the wane. At least there were several appearances on her show and as for the Justin Bieber thing; it makes sense that she'd suggest that route and use Bieber as a template given his insane popularity, at least as an in. When Mariah Carey first came out they fashioned her on Whitney Houston. A couple of years later, Mariah was known for being Mariah.

But thats showbiz kid. Money has been pumped in and Ellen probably "steer"/manipulated him into an image that is most sellable. But all record management do that in general and all record companies tend to drop artist that are not making money. That unfortunately life. Probably from Greyson's point of view he wanted a relationship more like a nurturing mother-like mentor. I do get the disappointment and we really do not know what were there exact words Ellen maybe said to him and he felt that he could view their relationship like a close loving mother/teacher? I think Ellen did try and she handled it the way she feels its normal in entertainment. I guess its a learning experience. Well... at least he had the chance to be given a platform. This is something other aspiring talents can only dream of. I guess its a learning journey for him. I mean this guys is 25yrs old so lets see how things would be like 5years from now. My god, how can people be so mean to Greyson in this comment section. He wants to stay relevant? His career didn't take over and is blaming her for that? No, it is not what he said. He felt she abandoned him and didn't care about him. Only when he was giving profit. Yes, his career didn't go well after a while, but she said she was going to be there for him. And she was not. She used him. He was a child/teenager. She could have been supportive. For what everyone says, Ellen is a fake person. And for a long time she was very influencial and to go against her it was extremely hard. Only when people came out and exposed her, things changed and others showed their side of the story. I think Greyson is an amazing person and truly an artist. He even went to college and tried to cope whith his struggles the best he could. He helps a lot of institutions and never sold himself for fame. Obviously, I don't know him personally, but he is being honest in my opinion and not to get attention. He is speaking the truth. At the end of the day, this is a business relationship, just like work relationships, if you don’t perform, you will be let go. Obviously Ellen will then no longer spend time on him and onto other investments ventures. It seems like as a young person he’s expecting her to be his friend or companion, to keep encouraging him and provide unconditional love…I can understand at a young age that can be confused as to a professional business relationship. Sounds like he never grew up and has a lot of emotional issues with authority figures. He wanted her to be his mom and best friend. She gave him a platform. He admits to ignoring her advice on how to be successful and then he blames her for not being successful. And he has a new album which is even worse. He is using the Ellen backlash and joining in the bandwagon for personal publicity.

What's done in the dark, always comes to the light, See I can tell u stories that at my job, we all smile like we're a happy family but the managers are also manipulative and some of the coworkers are too. I see that he kept appearing on her show though, the fact that she was manipulative. He wanted to keep his career going.

This guy is just mad that he didn’t make it like Justin Bieber etc. Probably expected too much from being on Ellen’s show. I know people have been after Ellen’s way of treating her employees etc and who knows the actual truth here but this guy just seems like an opportunist trying to gain his other 15 mins of fame by trying to talk s*** about Ellen! Like move on dude.

Why, the unmitigated gall, of Ellen! To be upset, you were too busy (w. a career she bolstered) than, to be deigned to watch a 2 hour feel-good helpful AF docu. on a ☆ she (btw EASILY could've done an intro to) just wanted you to shine as bright as! So 'manipulative' of her!! 🙄 P.s. You should've watched it, even if it was a '69 Bears game on Betamax, boo. Besides...suggesting, then furiously re-requesting viewing of documentaries we ALREADY adore. Is how we SHOW ♡ #linkresendlife

The negative comments are bothering if it was a straight white girl who made this claim everyone would be like oh you're brave for speaking out but the fact of the matter is greyson was a child at the time he trusted her he had faith and being signed with her and then she completely abandoned him because he couldn't make her more money and tried to market him as the next JB and he's no where near Bieber he's much more talented

I’m not saying he’s lying or she’s lying, I’m not on one side vs that side all I’m going to say is, some times in life people do, say and act really shitty and treat other horrible and the behavior goes on for years and years and nobody calls them out on it bc they fear they will lose something in their life, ie friendship, job, contacts etc… and that’s horrible and a horrible way to feel. This is why I wholeheartedly believe that people of “privilege” whether that be celebrities, politicians, Entrepreneurs, rich people, “people in or of power” etc… should be called out on this behavior the very first time and told it’s not ok and will not in any way be accepted or tolerated, I know it’s easier said than done and yes in a perfect world, it this is why people continue to act like they do because it’s not stopped. As for Ellen and any one else who has been accused of similar behaviors( which I try to stay neutral bc I wasn’t there) if you’re truly sorry and want to change and do and be better, it will not happen overnight, it will take work and you may suffer the Consequences in your life and in your circle of friends, colleagues, job industry etc… but you can get it back if you’re willing to do the hard work bc it won’t happen overnight. Just work hard and do and be better, and Ellen, bc this video is after all about you, so and be what you preach.. BE KIND! I’m not trying to sound naive but I just want positivity and uplifting happening in this world bc there’s just too much ugly and hate and I want to be apart of uplifting people rather than tearing anyone down. Hope everyone and their families and friends are doing well and have the happiest of holidays and the healthiest New Year!!

The only point he’s making is that Ellen really did her part (when she didn’t owe him anything) to boost his career and used her connections to make him a bigger star, but that didn’t really work out, so she dropped him. I think that’s just business as usual. You can’t just expect your producer, your label, and your manager to work for you, if you flop, sorry!! That is the truth and the truth hurts. You can’t expect Ellen to always treat you like a little boy that you were. The moment that you are signed under a label, you are a commodity, you are an artist to be sold.

Sour grapes from Greyson Chance, sorry have a seat when your career didn't catapult to the level you "think" you should be you want to denigrate the person who gave you your 1st opportunity. This is nothing new folks why did he sign with her record label? Has Ellen produce any musical albums in the past that proves she could get him to stardom? I don't think so if I am wrong someone let me know the facts. Folks out here if they can shred people's character without facts in the media to destroy their credibility the media will eat it up. Continue to stay strong Ellen, they try to do this to Oprah years ago on many levels and its a good thing Oprah knows who she is and her truth she is standing stronger than ever, Stay strong Ellen.
